I like the idea. But sunlight cannot penetrate it, so is it strictly for rain? would i have to move it on and off the plants?New Costco carports are $220....you can find the frames on craigslist for $40-50 dollars
You only use the frame. Cover the top with clear plastic. I bought one of these greenhouse covers....I like the idea. But sunlight cannot penetrate it, so is it strictly for rain? would i have to move it on and off the plants?

Doesn't seem like much but had they completley filled out they couldve added up. Also pulled off some popcorn buds that were rotted aswell, no big deal. Just hope it doesnt spread, rest of the plant looks solid. Harvest in 3-4 weekshalf or full zip from those buds ??? awe i do not think looks more like couple grams imo a anyways grow on dude
Unfortunately Im not always around to check them but after this Im keeping an extra eye on them. Well see how they turn outSorry to hear about that man.... This kinda shit breaks my heart :/ good luck, and check on them more often to be sure there safe
Thank you for the post, very fun to read. Seems like our plants went through a very similar season. Yours is much larger and bushier, youll pull a pound easy, maybe two. The carports seem like a great idea but at this point it is too late, and i don't have room for it at my current location. Main problem with the sativa genetics in both of our strains is the flower time. Not entirely sure if shell finish by second week of october, but we shall see! new pics coming tomorrow.Looking good shitty tho with the rot and broken branch
I too am going thru the same this. Last few years a grew a few just for personal .. but this year I could only get my hands on the one clone in the spring( I work away a lot,so it was hard to get home in time).
I named her Loretta. She too got a little bigger than I expected ( no complaints now tho mind u ).In the spring I built a trellis around where I thought she would fill out to. added a wire mesh 4 feet up to support the tops when the budding starts. (so I thought) . She outgrew that long ago..and now the mesh is used to support her branches halfway down)
I Also got a spell of PM on her too ( I tried the milk mixture..and knock on wood..its been working so far.. not iraddicating but controlling it.)
I went to look at those carports etc..but like you..realize it wouldnt fit properly over the plant now( shoulda done in spring)
So I had no choice but to build. She even outgrew that before I could plastic it in ..So I had to tear down and " raise the roof"..and shes still going.
I framed it in and now gonna wait ill it gets a little cooler before adding the vap barrier.
Shes coming along great and I too am hoping for a lb. I been using organic ( I have goats chickens and a great compost pile) . I was hoping to keep her low to the ground, but didnt realize it was a sativa I was given(green crack apprtly) and they like to stretch.I topped her a few times to try to keep her low..but she refused so I gave up and let her go.. she developed quite the stalk .
I hope in Oct I will be as heavy on top as you are..so far I am only half way thru because of late planting but shes coming along .
Congrats to you and good luk the rest of the way . Looking forward to seeing your final tally
CP.
Ps.. sorry for the long post didnt mean to "hijack"
Atleast a zipperHeres the bud rot, probably wouldve been between a half or full zip once filled out. oh well.
On the fence about the fan leaves, not sure if the plant is still feeding off them or i should pull them.let me just say i love how the plants are looking! you might want to get in there and clip off some of those yellowing fan leaves let some air get between those buds. I'm having the same problem, about 3 zips of my great white shark and white rhino GONE due to bud rot. Not to mention the other zip i lost from fucking mildew. I feel your pain man, mother nature can be a bitch! keep us updated i would love to see how it turns out for you!
It came out to 84 g wet so maybe close to a zip dry. It makes me realize that this plant would've been atleast a pound. I harvested those buds three weeks early. And if I add in all the molded buds i wouldve been well over the desired goal. Such a shameAtleast a zipper
