Early opinions?!? please

Hey everyone! I went out and grabbed that 125w bulb and stuck it in my box over my girls. They're stretching a lot more than I would have wanted, but I haven them as close to the light without burning them. So I guess we'll see when they start opening up some new leaves.

Unfortunately, Bubblegummer the free seed from UFO never sprouted.. So i'm down to five!

Im pretty relieved it was one of the free seeds and not the pick and mix I ordered.

Im guna keep them in this box for a few weeks or until they out grow it, whichever comes first.. I'll put them under my 400wMh for a couple weeks of veg and then switch over to hps for flower:lol:

those plants are stretching big time, try putting them deeper into the soil. also if that light isn't too hot, move it a little closer.

they are streatching pretty bad man,,,, bjeminyro is right if you plant them a little bit deeper next time they would streatch as bad,

This may be a slight fix for stretching in the future... Start them in small containers and then when you transplant to bigger containers just bury them up to the leaves. I have only seen it in videos. I have 4 seedlings trying to break through the soil at the moment so I have no experience with it... yet.

8im drunk rught now but ui know theyre stretching, i will plant them up to the leaves and move them closewr to the light. love you guys. rthanks

In my hungover state i managed to make the seedlings closer to the light before too much damage is done. I plan on burying them up to the leaves in larger pots when i transplant. Hopefully all goes well. Let me know if you think this was a good adjustment for the time being.

A tip:
Try to get some rooting hormone on the part of the stem that will be buried when you transplant!
I do this when transplanting clones and I have a buddy that does it w/ seedlings.
It's insane how much the plant EXPLODES with those extra roots!

EDIT: works best w/ powdered rooting hormone.

I have a rooting hormone (olivia's cloning gel), youre saying to put it on the part of the stem that will be buried under the soil? and youre also saying that roots will form on that stem below the soil?

Yup! that's what Im saying.
I've never done it w/ gel, just the powder, but Im sure it's just the same.
Yes--adventitious roots will appear anywhere the stem is buried.

Transplanted stretched seedlings into taller cups to get them closer to the fixture aswell. I know the cups are CLEAR.. i will cover the sides when the time comes.
