There are lots of early finishing strains. Here is a list of strains I grew in the past that finished before the end of September.

Emerald Triangle - Lost Coast OG (great outdoor plant, big yield)
Emerald Triangle - Grapefruit Krush
Sensi - Super Skunk
Kannabia - Special
Ceres Seeds - Purple* (another big yield)
Magus (now part of Serious Seeds) - Motavation (one of my all time favorites)

that grapefruit sounds really nice how did it turn out and have you tried it indoors ?
Grapefruit Krush is one of the best smelling and tasting strains I ever had. If you like fruity strains like I do then I would highly recommend it. It will turn reddish purple too, especially if the temps get lower. The only thing bad I can say about that strain is that the yields aren't spectacular. I mean, they aren't terrible, I've seen worse, but they aren't huge. You definitely want to top it.

Lost Coast OG was excellent. At least the pheno I got. Grew very tall and filled out nice toward the end. Think I pulled about 6 oz of this plant. Not as flavorful as Grapefruit Krush, but still pretty tasty nonetheless and more than makes up for it in yield.

How well do these strains hold up to mold? Have you grown any particularily good mold resistant strains?

I don't recall getting much mold on any of these strains. The year I did the Emerald Triangle stuff was a particularly cool, damp fall, so I did get a little on the Lost Coast OG, but probably lost lest than 3 or 4g total to mold. Just a few patches here and there. I don't care what any breeder claims. Mold can strike any strain given the right conditions. IMO it's just one of those things that come with the territory when growing outdoors, especially guerrilla style. That is why I choose strains that, after doing my research, and known to consistently finish by October 1.

I agree. In Maine the falls are wet, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night are extreme; a perfect spawning ground for mold. So, strains that are done in September are much less susceptible than ones done in October or November. Cat Piss, and M.O.B. are two that come to mind, but the latter may only be found in clone form.

Good to hear. I have a Grapefruit Krush out back as an experiment this summer, next year I plan to add freebie Blueberry Headband I have and possibly another ET strain. I'm over here in Washington State and this is my first time growing outdoors so I've been a little concerned about the weather.
