Earthy smelling marijuana buds....

So i harvested and dryed my marijuana buds all looks good except they are a lil airy but that i dont care, for some reason they smell weird like not the kind of pot you would buy off the street intill you crack one of these buds up and then they smell sweet. Does this meen they need to cure? does curing bring out there normal marijuana smell that you find off the street? i am a noob at growing marijuana so Pro answers are appreciated

The curing of the buds will bring out the sweet smell within. My buds smelled abit earthy too but the longer they cured the better they smelled. hope this helped

Yeah they always smell slightly funny after the dry with no cure. Give em a couple weeks in jars and they will smell completely different.

Yeah, just be patient and cure slowly for the best taste and smell. Good Luck

2 weeks is like the bare minimum for me.

It takes a minimum of 10 days for chlorophyl to be gone from the plant.

Do you have to cure bud before smoking to get full flavor or is it genetics? Will a bud ever have its true taste right off the stem and dried for only one week?
