So i ordered what i thought was a High pressure sodium light from ebay and it arrived today. To my dismay it is a Metal halide will this work for flowering for the time being?

halides are usually in the blue spectrum right? well what if i got like a few red spectrum CFLs or fluorescents? that might do the trick

cool thanks guys yall really put my mind at ease....i was HEATED when i opened taht box and it said halide on there but i'll just pick up some red CFL's and boost my light a little bit......heat is not really a problem man i got so much ventilation its not even funny anymore haha

well thats the thing... i really would(which is why i tried to buy one in the first place) except after buying all my initial stuff iwhich is everything i need to grow i am a little broke for a couple weeks so i gotta wait and if i can achieve the same thing by not dropping another hundo on a light i would be happy

Use it, it will flower plants. I've seen turn-key units come with ONLY MH lights. Add some Red spectrun LED to compensate. I use 600w HPS for flowering suplemented with full spectrum CFL's for flowering. For Veging, all I need is MH it's way brighter. I would still get what the HPS.
