i just started use a ebb\flow system how often should i have the pump flood the tray

theres many schedules you can use... i like 15 minutes every 2 hours.. never had issues with that schedule..

I searched for this answer not long ago and the best advice I found was, It depends on your gfowing medium. If you are in Hydroton, frequent floods are cool, if you are in rockwool only, you need to give it more time to dry out. I'm in 1.5" starter cubes sitting in expanded clay so I go 15min every two hours (never after lights out).

4 to 6 floods a day .
15 minute fill time .
It will actualy be on you as to how many times you flood a day, as it depends on what type of medium you are using , some hold water better than others . That is where you need to take notice to how long they are staying wet. And then you will learn your feeding schedule .
Also it is a good thing not to feed your plants while the lights are off ( sleep time ) , Some do some dont it is up to you .
