I use 3/4 ebb and flow fitting for drain and never glue the drain pipe so I can adjust flood height, my pump fitting is a half inch thru hull fitting but with my pump it's a water fountain coming out lol, my tray is covered so it's an amazing rain storm under the lid.

I have been growing for years using a Flood and Drain system .
I use a 1/2" hose fitting for filling , and I use 3/4" hose for draining . This will prevent you from ever over filling your flood table .
