I am a first time grower, and I purchased an ebb n grow system for my first set up. I am planning on seperating my flower room and Veg room now. I was wondering if anyone has used the control bucket for two reservoirs?

Wow 500$ for a garbage can a pump and some buckets. That don't sound like a good deal to me . Bet i could build one for like 140$ with parts from a toilet and some stuff from homedepot.

Do have to admit it looks like a nice system that can be built on the cheap. May just have to take the viewer challenge :)

Yes, I think I could build it also.

You can buy the controller separately for $300

The Ebb & Gro Controller is the missing link for hydroponics gardeners making their own flood and drain system.
This 3 1/2 gallon unit has pre-installed float switches
and comes with a cover,
necessary fittings
and two 315 gallon-per-hour submersible pumps
to facilitate the fill and drain cycles.

The attached controller regulates the cycles
and can manage six to 48 separate plant sites,
has easy-to-set 15-minute interval pull tabs
and is warranted against defects for a three-year period.

The complete Ebb & Gro Controller also includes instructions and extensive support materials. Dimensions: 15" X 10" X 11.5"

From what i can tell the "controller" is just another bucket that fills at the same rate with a toilet style float. When that bucket fills (same as rest) to a certain point it will trigger them to drain .
Im working on a design that may work . And for cheap. Just need to figure out if its best to use the float to trigger a pump or make a a gravity pump.

Heres a nice little DIY system.International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - DIY Ebb & Flo Bucket Controller and System

Im just hoping to save you a few bucks . In turn maybe myself too

Well I can get that system delivered with 2 expansion sets, that makes a 24 site, for $550.00...that is US. So after you add up all the components that make up the "whole" system, I think it may be hard to make something yourself of the same quality... The buckets themselves bought at $4 bucks, would be $240.00, then you would have to drill them out, purchase the grommets, and then the fittings, then the hose...The control box is the real kicker, it has a double overflow valve and is shaped correctly for its purpose. Then there is the 50 gallon res, those are not cheap...I think after purchasing 3 of these, that they pay for themselves quickly...You can also flood and drain with Coco in the buckets, so it is great for someone whom wants to go more Organic....
