EC and Tap Water

I have been ignoring it for years. I got the PPM meter a few weeks ago. As per my other thread, I'm pretty sure I have Chloride toxicity. For now I will ignore starting PPM (I think that's what the CannaGardening site implies with the term "EC+) and just do weekly flushes.
if you can grow houseplants (if you do?) with your water, it "should" be fine for cannabis too

if i had chloramine, i would try to get rid of that.
Yeah, but that's so easy to deal with. Chlormide is a bit more difficult. Wouldn't be a big deal except setting up an RO where there is no plumbing isn't a realistic option. That said, I'm just going to step up how often I flush/leach and I'm sure I'll see an improvement. I used to religiously flush, but got lazy about it because I could still achieve good results without the hassle. I'm just looking to tighten things up in my grow, so I guess flushing is back in.

If you just have a small grow you can get a under the sink ro system cheap and it’s easy to install, get a 5 gallon water jug and collect it inside and take it out. You can get a cheap inline or utility water pump and when it’s time to change your water pump it out, saves your back

Wrong. You’re going for 700 you add nutes to your 200 base until you reach 700. Read your water analysis online. Your water supplier will have it posted. You need to be aware of what is making it 200 out of the tap. It’s usually majority calcium and distant second is usually magnesium.

Suggest forgetting cal mag during veg unless you see a deficiency.
*EC is additive, so you measure your base water EC then add in the suggested amount.
For example: Base water EC .2, suggested dosage is 1.1, then final level will be 1.1 + .2 = 1.3

Quoted from a nutrient manufacturer webpage. You may want to brush up on your information.

Personally I never do that.

my Nutrient manufacturer says to run their nutes at 1.8-2.6EC after 2 weeks veg from
Rooted clone.

that would fuck up most plants unless you’re dealing with a 5-7ft tree lol.

I don’t really exceed 1.4EC and that includes my 0.2 source water.

Thanks for the info. I already decided to go with the EC is additive approach. I'm 90% sure that the burn issue I've been having is high chloride levels. Flushing seems like an easier and cheaper approach than RO for now.
