Stick to EC, ppm’s are considered arbitrary since they are derived from EC anyway and different companies use different formulas

The grow stores sell calibration fluid for around $2 that will tell you how your meter is reading. When people throw PPM's around we never know if they are converted ppm's or the actual meter reading. Talk about confusing, one of my Hanna pens is .7 scale and all my other Hanna's are .5 WTF? a defective one? As long as I know, thanks to the calibration fluid, there's no harm.

i guess im talking about .5 Hanna one but i like to use EC then everyone knows what im saying and i agree its very important to make sure your instrument for getting the PH is cal,d

another question i have is that as the plants get older do you feed/flood more or do you flood less

I always say read your plants and monitor your reservoir because your mileage will vary depending on your specific plant (not just strain) and your environmental conditions, mostly lamp intensity and air conditions. The sweet spot of my last grow (flood/drain) was around 1.6 - I had tried running hotter later in flower but the plants weren't having it.
hi bro
So ive been thinking about the question i asked and also how ive been feeding and my question is
when you say your sweet spot was 1.6 are you talking about your general A&B food(no additives) up to 1.6 EC.
I was talking about EC in total with additives but i guess im asking about min EC of the A&B before cal/mag,flower boosters etc
I haven't been doing that but i,m just about to do a res change at day 21 and start at EC 1.2 as my baseline for the A&B and do the boosters on top and id say id be up at 1.8

Well in my case, I was only running one nutrient at the time, just maxibloom, so no additives for me. To clarify further, I am using tap water and that was overall ec measured. I may have been using a 1/4 strength dose of cal-mag too now that I think about it. Either way, that was total for me. In my new grow I have 150 more watts of LED power so I expect ec demands will go up. Plus this strain so far likes higher ec’s early on so that’s a factor too - my plants were deficient last week so I kicked it up to almost 1.2 (they are fairly small transplants in veg) and they are looking great today. I just flipped to 12/12

thanks dude,
I am going to use PK13/14 in week 5 then back to just my canna A,B,maybe alittle cal,mag but i think thats all they,ll need to the end
I used a booster not from canna for these first 3weeks and some cal/mag and they're happy atm but i was having my A&B food low and uping the EC with the boosters were i should have had the A&B at the level i wanted and added less boosters, cheers for the reply bro
