150 and 200 are these CFM's or m3/h fan ratings?

Personally have no experince with environment controllers but usually ppl have the wrong size fans.

please answer CFM's or m3/h ?

as per your PM i will use m3/h

ok so your tent is 2.4x2.4x2= 11.52m3
as you are not air cooled you need to multiply this by 60mins so that you get adaquate cooling extraction.

11.52m3 x 60 = 691m3/h exhaust fan

691 x 0.80 = 552m3/h intake fan.

you are seriously under ventilating your tent.

i would recommend you get yourself an RVK150E2-L1 660m3/h fan for exhaust in order for your controller to work as it should.

150 and 200m3/h fans ??? what did they sell you??? 100mm(4") and a 125mm(5") fans???? this is only enough to run 1x400w with exhaust and intake .

Ok the RVK 150a1 is 480m3/h

the ruck 200 is 680m3/h

This should work.

With both of these fans running independantly of the controller does the room stay within optimum temps?

Because if both of these fans running without a controller was not enough to keep it cool then you will not have any success with a controller.

I Personally would have used and RVK150A1 for intake and an RVK150L1 for exhaust.

I hear nothing but bad things about how the RUCK's arent as powerfull as the RVK's.

Some more questions im afraid.

What is the ambient room temperature of the room with the tent in it?

You may have to go and put your thermometer in your room with the tent in it to get the answers i am looking for.

Jon thanks alot for your help.I had my suspicions about the ruk 200 out on my last grow and think this is whats causing me my problems.

there is a possible solution though that does not include you buying anything new other than possibly a carbon filter.

If your ambient room temps where your grow tent is situated can be kept around 20C the you can run the whole thing using passive ventilation holes and run both the RVK and the RUCK as your exhausts.

Put a carbon filter to each fan and hey presto your temps should remain stable as long as the ambient room temp does not exceed 20C-24C if you can keep temps within this range then the tent will only heat up to around 2C-3C above the ambient room temp.
