Efforts of my first grow!

Hello All,

I started my first grow on the 14th Feb from seed.

The variety is unknown, I smoked her mother when I was in Nimbin Australia and managed to save the one and only seed I had. The plant was a very heavy indica with large open buds any ideas?

anyways I used the wet towel technique and it worked perfect 1 week later and a perfect little seedling.

from there I potted her in a very large pot approx 15ltr with a gravel base ( probably won't do that next time ), topped with Coco. She reached about 6 inch just from window light. Then my set up arrived.

small grow tent 2 x 2 x 6
120w 7 band LED blue and red combined
Coco A and B
5 ltr bubbler / overflow tray / aka a washing up bowl, seal from the light
small fish tank air pump
3.5ml per 1 litre of A and B coco nutes when required.
watering every 4 - 5 days, coco remaining moist and gives good visual indication when ready.
root spray and feed used during first 2 weeks for stress and rooting.
PH 6 ish
carbon filter and extraction fan
small oscillating

Routine has been to give it a 18/6 daylight, after first week of 24 and it grew well. For the first 3 weeks then the big announcement a baby girl. Boy was I happy 1 seed 1 very long flight and 1 female. I then swapped once a couple of buds were starting to grow and I was very sure she was a she, to a 12/12 routine. Since then in the last 2 weeks she has grow to over 2 1/2ft tall and wide with 15 large buds forming very nicely. The bubbler is dropping about 2 inch every 4 days or 2 litres so watering is pretty constant. Plus she now has roots in the solution directly that have grown very strong. My light was too close at first, I had to research a lot about LED distance. But from all my findings it best at 12" for a entry level and going up to over a metre for a monster system. I'm at 14" and it's perfect no curling and a decent reach from the plant. My temp about 5deg over room temp and remains constant. Small clip fan not currently use had no real need currently. I did do some stress training daily when she was small and her stalk is over 2cm wide now and very strong.

i am new to this game and welcome any advice or questions, I did mountains of research for my little girl and are hoping to smokes my rewards in the coming months.

Congratz on your baby girl. Post some pictures for all us to see!

I would recomend starting a journal. I have a couple grows under my belt but his is the first time I have been documenting and sharing it with other people. The help you can get is amazing. If you ever have a problem, just post a pic and let eveyone know what's going on and the community will help.

Nice to have you on RIU, stick around, start a journal, check out the forums.

Keep on growing!

IMO, get the fan on her. Not only does it cool her down, but promotes a healthy stalk AND sid branching. It also circulates the air in your tent, which helps in the exchange of co2 and o2.

Other then that, it sounds like you are on the right path.

Good luck!

Good news the buds are showing signs of flowers at long last.

is it worth trimming the small undergrowth leaves. Not sun, as they receive restricted light and have a slight curl? Or let her go as nature intended?

cheers soapy
