Éire Gorilla Grow 2018

Ok, quick update before the ladies go outside. I finally found a good spot on the side of a mountain so will need to start dragging bags of soil up over the next few days and get things ready. Iv installed a wildlife camera too so ill be able to check if we have been any unwanted visitors.

The 2 Frisian Dew are growing tall and stretchy, more of a Sativa structure but the Blue WIdow are a more stocky Indica structure.

The pots are starting to dry out now every 3 days so i reckon once they hit the ground the roots will spread out and they'll take off.

I will stick up another update once I have them in the new spot.

I’m actually starting to think Iv mixed up the tabs when I planted them.

If you checkout the back row of the 3rd pic. The one in the back right and front 3 are blue widow, the back 2 on the left are Frisian but the 3 at the back all look very alike.

Maybe 3 Frisian and 3 Blue widow??? :shock:

huh I grew for a few seasons in maine did good not much mold just little to weak for my liking the short green pheno is the good one,did not like the tall purple ones at all

Yeah the purple one is the one I grew...and I didn't like it. It was the one that got the rot too :(

Right, they're out in the sun :cool: Better late then never lol

The spot I found is a little barby but it will do. There’s a resviour of water right beside it too so I won’t have to drag bottles up, especially with this drought we’re having.

Iv kept them in there pots I couldn’t dig holes. I’ll try set it up properly for next season

Id maybe go in with a weedwacker and cut out around the pots a lil n put up chicken wire unless arent worried about animals, maybe put a insecticide spray or diamateous earth what i do for an organic method, around the planters to prevent bugs also, all that lil brush could have bugs in there

Cheers, Im heading back up later ill clear out some space around them, im not sure if id get away with carrying chicken wire up there but i might be able to work something. Never heard of the diatomaceous earth but it looks good. Is there anything else you would recommend from keeping the insects away?

Sounds good, yeah if its risky area can probably live without the wire, i have done that years ago, just lots of rabbits as theres a rabbit den near me, and deer id say, and didnt want to kill them or anything so had to work with them lol, dont need much space cleared too if keeping them concealed, just little spots for them should do well, and yeah, its my first year using D.E but lots say it works well keeping insects away and its just made from powdered seashells basically so organic, so good to use but not sure if so in flower cause its like powder,

Id also recommend method 1 pps, it can be diluted for a spray and supposed to be awesome i heard, and near organic, i may try it in the near future but never had bug issues except fungus gnats from the soil i bought so never gave it a go personally

Yes, deer foxes and rabbits would be an issue where I am. God I never thought about the deer lol. I’ll try find some long sticks or stakes and surround the pots. Some attempt at a barrier.

With the DE, do you dissolve in water and water them or spinkle it around the top of the pot? From what i could see online, a line around the pot will stop slugs and snails from getting through but not sure about watering with it. I wasn’t planning on feeding them anything this time around but if I could get two birds with one stone.

Are you in Ireland? Can only find the Method 1 in US stores. Shipping is a killer

Wiyh D.E lots said can make a dilution and goliar feed the plant, moteso for the silica in it, but i personally go through and dust the plant with a little layer through the leaves, and it cuts open tiny insects like mites and dehydrates them on contact, its supposed to be less effective for that when wet i heard so i just put powdered on my plants as others do that too and the rain or wind will wash it off, for deer too, lots in my area but havent been a issue i omly use the chicken wire, most garden centres have deer repellent stuff also can just spray around for like 10$

A tablespoon D.E in waterings to roots will also boost silica levels mostly and possibly be pest preventer, garden shops got slug killer for cheap also, i put around pots to keep them out cause they can do decent damage, can put D.E around the pots on the ground also to prevent bugs, im in North America so dont think method pps is there yet but if you can find D.E its got lots uses and is cheap
