The code violation thing is the latest method of making a grower's life hard. Even with larger grows the city is choosing not to undertake costly arrests, but instead, send in code enforcement and make money on the fines...and the fines add up. I believe Ventura County was the first to start this as a matter of policy. My buddies 15 light show was raided by cops who didn't do anything because his collective paperwork was in order. However, to get up to code his construction costs would exceed $40,000!!! He paid our attorney $3,000 to secure a 6 month extension and spent that time building a new op. Done deal.
Note to all: If your neighbors know you're growing it's time to shut er down. There's no if, ands, or buts. People are scary as fuck, and people in HOA's are even scarier. Myfriend grew in his garage in a gated community. He set the grow up so everytime he harvested he could open the garage door for the world to see. With no plants and a couple hrs covering up ballasts with garden tools, the place looked like every other cookie cutter garage. After a weekend with the door opened it was door closed for another 60 days and back to growing. HOA's may be scary, but they're dumb as fuck.
