Emergency Harvest Question

Well, it's harvest day for 3 plants I have growing upstairs. This is a particularly strong-smelling plant, and will stink up the whole house if I cut it limb-by-limb, trim them a bit, and then hang. And it just happens to be the biggest night of college football, and we're having people over to watch the games. Bummer.

Could I use this "emergency harvest" method: could I just cut the stalk of each plant clean thru at the base, thereby "chopping" each plant, and then just leave them in that exact position in the closet until I get a free day to chop them branch-by-branch? Would cutting them at the base like this start the drying process?

Yes, it will start the drying process. Turn them upside down and let them dry. Some people trim after their initial dry, before they jar the buds. I find it more difficult to trim after they dry. I trim before I hang the branches. Three plants could take you six hours depending on how big the plant are and how focused you and your team are.

Yep, I prefer trimming it up before hanging as well.

Why can't you just do it tomorrow or after your guests leave?...

I could, but my son is also home from college for the holidays. And although he's sometimes gone for hours at a time, it still makes me nervous. He won't go back to college till Monday.

I feel like a prisoner in my own home.

Wait till Monday or take them out back to the shed...

Personally I only harvest on Sunday evenings when the possibility of visitors is minimal but that's for my situation I don't really know yours.
Fuck it light some candles and get to chopping, lol.

Just chopped our doctor who last night and hung the whole plant in the dark room,first i de fan leaf it and tip the other leaf that have no or little resin on them...the chop timing this time was all cloudy tric's.

Well, I was able to chop all 3 plants and hang them upside down in the time I had alone today. Thanks everyone.
