I accidently split the main cola at teh joint on my plant, and now the leaves are starting to rot and fall off, so i'm having to harvest.. problem is it's been sitting like that for almost a week now.. about 4 or 5 days.. so i'm going to go ahead and harvest.. since thsi si my first time, and wasnt actually prepared to make it asfar as I have, I don;t have the right tools and set-up to really do teh greatest job drying and curing.. so I've decided to hang it in teh living room of a small camper with an aircondioner blowing in teh room... unlesss anyone else has any suggestions.. my plant isn't very big.. a couple feet tall maybe.. i'll get maybe a 1/2 to a whole out of her.. and i'm going to cure teh buds also in the same room, in just regular jars with lids on them.. it's either that or vacuum seal the buds... again.. this is my first time and wasnt actually expecting to make it asfar as I have, or come to love the experiance asmuch as I have.. next year i'll be more prepared... as of this year i'm doing the best I can with what I have... any suggestions would be appreciated... I'm kinda putting it off because I just hate to kill it..

there's three thousand words, please help..lol..
I'm on my first grow, so my advice is worthless... however, I don't really see any problems with your plant. Some leaves will die and fall off as flowering continues into the later stages... that is part of the life cycle.

But if you harvest, then I see no problem drying in the manner you described.

Any yellow or brown on your leaves wouldn't be as a result of the cola splitting, but I don't think that the cola splitting would constitute an early harvest. A picture of your aforementioned problem would be nice too. I'm just a newbie, but I've learned enough by having to trash my first grow completely and browsing RIU so hopefully you'll be able to let her finish up flowering!

If i took a picture you couldn't tell unless i untied it and opened it back up.. it's about two or three inch's down teh center where the stems starts to spread.. I was thinking the same thing, but the rapidness of the color change and the browing and whilting of the leaves are what have me concerned.. that and teh spots all over the leaves..

You can use tree tar to seal the split, it keeps the insects and moisture out so you can finish the flowering cycle..the spots on the leaves are not much to worry about, you can cut them off...Good luck..:eyesmoke:

The fan leaves will yellow and die off as the plant finishes it's flowering cycle. It is a natural occurance.

Just let her keep on doing her thing. ^that advice about the tree tar sounds good, just don't get that stuff on the actual buds.

I think if it were me, I would let it continue to flower.....I don't see anything out of the ordinary as far as you plant looks in the pictures. I don't think there is anything to worry about honestly. Tying it together is probably the best and only thing you could have done for it. You could take a piece of twine and tie it snuggly (not loose or tight) around the outside of all the colas 1/2 way up, to help relieve some of the strain at the broke/split area. I'd do that and let it go.....may as well let it mature and get some descent quality smoke.

I've had several plants split like yours. I just tape it back together and continue to let them grow. Matter of fact the plant on the right just had the same issue due to a recent hurricane.

I wouldn't tear the dying leaves off. A lot of people do, under the theory that removing the dying branches allows the plant to put more energy into the buds. But the leaves are dying because the plant is already putting more energy into the buds. So it is taking care of that itself. In fact, I have this theory that pulling off the dying leaves can actually hurt the plant. I have no evidence, but I think perhaps the plant dumps excess nutrients and wastes into the dying leaves... sort of using them as a trash can. So I don't want to take the trash can away and make her dump the wastes into the bud sites. So I just wait until the leaves are totally dead and shriveled before I take them off the plant.

seems to make sence.. i think i'll leave it and see what happens.. I just worry because the leaves inside teh bud's were brown.. the smaller leaves are turning yellow aswell, but I gave it some plant food.. it had more nitrogen than anything else in it.. but I figured than anything was better than nothing, right?

Looking at the pics, I'd go up another node with more tie-wraps to help strengthen the split. I say let it grow. Stress will sometimes make them flower like crazy.
