Engraving on bulb????

When I bought my hps bulb (400w) the guy took an engraver and put a couple spots on the metal end.What does that do to the bulb?

He put a crack in it so when you turn it on it blows up and fries your weed.

so they know it's not stolen? or something or if they bust a grow room they know where the bulb came from and they can look it up? hell idk it could be many things what do the marks look like? im just throwing things out there i highly dought that reason number 2 is correct but you never know

Its normal hydro companys do that in order to know that it came from them and that if it breaks they are 100% sure that its theirs.

If I sold bulbs for growing I wouldn't want the cops to know that it came from my store. lol

Well buddy we sell lights for tomatoes how dare they grow an illegal substance lol.

And we use a sharpie and wright the date it was bought.

the bulb comes with a 1 year guarantee. he was putting a date on it.
