There is prob 7 total on the cake, but I cant really complain on a 2yr old syringe. I have had 2nd flushes turn out better than the 1st in the past, we will see! Im sure I will have better results on wbs, that grow log will be up as soon as I take some prints.

Here is a pic from this morning. In my honnest oppinion, I dont think the cake absorbed enough water when I dunked it. Its pretty light in weight.

I re-dunked a few cakes last night and used jars since there was only a few to do. I put the caps on the jars, and by morning about 25% of the water was absorbed by the cake. I had to re-fill them. :) Now I know why they do em all in a bucket!

When I dunked mine, I put it in a tupperware bowl and put a saucer on top so it pushed the cake totally under water. I gave it 24hrs, but it still seems light.

How many syringes can you make out of one spore print? Assuming a 10mL syringe as standard of course................... What happens if you mix spore prints in the same cake?

I know you can mix spore prints as long as there from the same batch, but i've never mixed different flushes or spores from different cakes, but I think as long as its same species that the basidiospores will still germinate and as long as 2 monokaryotic mycelium growths that are compatible to mate meet somatogamy will still occur and a fruitible dikaryotic mycelium will be produced same as if the spores came from same cap. but i've never tryed this, and I dont have any idea if you could combine spores from different strains.

I like making my syringes dark, so I usually use 2 or more prints per syringe. Like Darth said, it only takes 2 spores(+ and -) and once germinate they fuse together they form a vast network. As for mixing sporeprints from the same cake, the dna will be mixed but yet similar. Now if you tried to mix 2 diff strains, 9 times out of 10...one will take over the other. But in the instance of PE, 2 strains were put together and formed a new strain. That doesnt happen verry often!! That was yrs and yrs of studies. here is a few lines about breeding.

Here's how RogerRabbit says PE #6 came to be:

"A single sector fruiting isolate of PE, and another of TEX were placed on a petri dish with rattlesnake venom added to the agar. The snake venom helped the two dikaryotic strains share genetic information to form a third sector, which was which was labeled PE6. Other Isolates of the PE were labeled PE 1-7, and apparently, some of the 6, which was the cross, were in the same batch of prints. The idea was to get a good spore producing PE, but I never had time to stabilize the strain due to accidentally releasing it early. That's why sometimes they look like texans and sometimes very much like PE."

OK now for some information on the mushroom itself. Well this one is straight up amazing. Its favored by many and yet feared by others. Why? Its very powerful medicine. Most of our friends in Amsterdam claim this one is twice as strong as any cubensis they have ever tried. The vibe lasts a long, long time. It does not come on in "waves" as most cubensis do. Its a solid ride from start to finish. Once your on the vibe its solid.. it keeps going strong for many many hours... but in a very beautiful way. A few friends claimed it was to strong but most wanted more, more, more! On the times I had the opportunity while outside the U.S. to eat these, I was mesmerized. It was the perfect vibe for cubensis in my experiences. I love the fact it doesn't hit you in waves. Its the same strong vibe throughout the experience. It is very smooth, and clean and easy on the body. I always felt like a million bucks the day after eating these. In my humble opinion, this is the perfect vibe from a cubenis!

!!!! Holy fuck batman, technical schmecniacl! :-) Excellent reply ++ rep. So I guess short answer is always use the same spore prints from the same species for a syringe and dont mix and match unless you wanna be Ralphster44. :-)

Nice! Penis Envy strain looked neat, but I didnt grab it since it stated the difficulty of the cap opening to release spores. I figured I'd start on easier ones.





Just received my 30 syringes from Ralph, well, 25 actually, he forgot 5 but I'm sure he'll ship them when he checks his email. ;) Got all of them except Golden Teachers, which means about 50 1/2 pint jars of Cambodians, 50 of B+, Brazil, BHT and Z Strain. About 180 jars are cooled from the last two days pressure cooking 14 at a time, so they'll get noc'd up tonight or tomorrow morning..... The 30 or so cakes I started with only yielded about 40 grams dry of shrooms so far, they are all on second flushes. I learned a lot along the way and this time "should be better!" :-). Thanks to all of you here for helping answer questions, and Zero as well from other threads..........

Thats what Im saying Darth...lol You go girl!! I am going to start up some wbs trays here in a few days, but NOTHING like you have going researchkitty! I will prob harvest atleast 4 onions a month, maybe more. I am currently not working, so I have alot of plans! BTW researchkitty..PE is a strain you will have to invest in down the road. Like the article says I posted...they arent like any other cube! Expect a 12 hr ride on PE...with the walls breathing!!!!! As for taking prints, most ppl use swabs for PE or take tissue culture(which is easy) I took tissue cultures and started up some LC....and it took off!!! I am going to invest in some more petri dishes with agar, and sector out a few strains when I get some more.
