IMG_0627.jpg Humidity is never an issue for me..........I have a 10 inch exhaust line leading outside, and normally leave a door open into the room too. But for curiosity, I'll put my hygrometer in shortly and report back in a few hours. Actual time is off too, so pay no attention to that.

So, the meter is off to a side and both meter readings are probably a few points higher. I am also due a watering today, and that will raise humidity to around 45% for around 24 hours.

The plants definitely look happy. The above pick shows a lot of foliage which can push humidity up. Everything looks great keep up the good work.

For a month into flowering, I couldn't be more pleased. It's been a very easy grow so far, with nothing out of the ordinary to report. It does look like I'll have to start slowly removing a leaf here and there to open up the canopy a bit. I think the leafyness has more to do with me maintaining a higher N level, as I like to keep them green and healthy well into flowering. I'll maintain my 50/50 veg/bloom mix for 2 more weeks, then go with 100% bloom for 2 more weeks and then nothing much the last 2. At least that's the plan.

Also want to mention I NEVER flush my plants til the end. I think the ferts I use are of pretty good quality, and the salt doesn't really build enough to create a problem.. But if you're using crappy or cheap stuff, give it a flush once in a while.

5 weeks done flowering today, probably another 5 to go.....although Ethos claims some of the pheno's will be done at 60 days. Unfortunately, because of the size difference, the shorter plants are all hidden and blocked by the taller plants- and rest assure there are more short ones than tall ones. I'll begin to slightly cut back on the Nitrogen now, and stop all veg ferts in another week or two. I also have not removed any leaves but starting shortly, I'll pick one or two off each plant every couple days to allow the light to penetrate further downward. Compare the pic's, you can see the bud thickening and getting larger..........still very healthy, stinky and a very easy grow.

So the wife goes out tonight and a few hours later she arrives home and yells downstairs "the house REALLY smells". I say to myself, F*CK YEAH! I spent some time with the girls after dark tonight, with my green bulb flashlight. Brought the step stool in, and gave them a good look/see. Smell has really come on, Xmas is going to be interesting. LOL The room is generally very uniform, other than height differences which I consider minor. Pretty uniform canopy, loads of resin working it's way outward on the bud leaves. For those who care, the temp was 73 degrees and the humidity was 43% when I turned out the lights. I did some watering tonight. I also started to stagger the waterings, as some plants need an almost daily watering, others are going 2-3 days. Last watering I lowered the ppm to 500 (6.3 pH), and I'll probably keep the ferts a bit on the low side the next couple of waterings. I'm not seeing a lot of little buds- most of the cola's are even and a nice size- for sure, my pic's don't do the room justice. To me it's actually growing more indica like than sativa- like it should. 30 years ago kushes WERE indicas. Now days, I think people expect more sativa than indica. Back Friday at 6 weeks into flowering.

I see Ethos has pre-released 3 new strains, SHN is pre-selling them starting today. They are not feminized, so I'm not interested- but some of you may be.

Probably caused by the string I used to tie the plant to the stake.........don't think that was natural.

Today is the end of 7 weeks in flowering- 3 more to go. I have been worried that the plants have been finishing slowly, but mostly all but the top pistols have started dying back and the pods are expanding. Further, the resin is coming on nicely- as has the stink. Lots of nice sized colas too. I did give the room a thorough look over for male balls and haven't found one so I'm pretty confident there are no hermie tendencies with this strain, which is nice. Below is a panographic view of the room, so you can see everything except the back stuff which stayed shorter. 23 plants really jammed in there, less probably would have been better. Click on the pic for a closeup.

Damn! Them colas are shaping up nice! That pheno variation is quite wide. Is the point of pH>6 to keep nitrogen uptake <? ethos state they got big plans for 2019. I'm guessing that'll be new drop every week!

You want to have all the nutes available, so you want to keep the pH In an acceptable range- 6.2-6.3 is perfect for pro-mix. But the last few weeks, you want to limit Nitrogen uptake so raising the pH slightly to 6.4-6.5 will reduce N uptake a bit but still leave most everything else available. I also eliminate Cal/Mag last two weeks, as I've found resin production does better without it in the end. Pheno variation is actually not very wide, only real separation is height and that may have been caused by weakened (less) light out on the perimeter.

Excellent info thanks. I'm judging by a photo only! I'm always looking at strains you've ran, but did you hear anything about Ethos's Granpa's Stash? Was it up to scratch for 2018? So many releases, some butes will be missed me thinks.

Grandpa's Stash was on my short list of strains I was looking at.........what convinced me NOT do purchase them had to do with the 20-25% THC grading. I think most of us doing Ethos's stuff find their THC counts are lower than stated, which means this could end up around 15-20% THC. I am also shying away now from their "skunk" hybrids, as I don't think they are as good as some of the other available things. Just my opinion though......

Day 52, just making some comments tonight.

I'm still a bit worried if everything will be finished in 18 days. About 25% of the plants are a bit earlier, with no more healthy pistils so they'll be fine. No so sure about the other 75%. I like to go into the room just after lights out with a strong flashlight and really give everything a good look. No browning of the pistils anywhere, but most of the Kushes I've done are pretty fast finishers so I'm holding out hope. Most of plants are using a bit less water now, some going 3-4 days to dry out instead of the normal 2. That's a good sign though. I like the pots to dry out a bit more than usual too now til the end. At about 650-700 ppm, pH 6.3 with tonight's watering (bloom ferts only)- everything has stayed nicely green, but nothing dark. The resin content has also begun to impress me- it's really caking it on right now. Temps at night have been rather cool in the dark period, I'll be interested to see what kind of bud colors show up in the end. Smell is full on nasty.........there's no hiding it, no covering it up. My daughter was home for Xmas and was walking the dogs out back and could smell it. Thankfully, I have a couple of acres and no one is close by. This might not be a strain for people who are concerned about smell. Back Friday at 8 weeks with a pic.......
