This will be my last post until everything is cut and drying........but a few comments first. Back on Tuesday.
1. I'm 62, and have been growing since I was 28. Sometimes on a large scale (875 plants), other times 24 plants give or take. Last year some friends and I started writing down all the strains we could remember I've grown over the years, we stopped when we reached 100. There were probably 25-35 more we missed. My point is I've been around the block a few times- and appearance wise, this is the nicest looking strain I've ever grown. I can't comment on the final smoke or taste and that will come later. But for now, simply amazing. FUCKING amazing actually.
2. There are lots of pheno's in the room. But that's to be expected as there's lots of different genetics in their makeup: Durban Poison, Gorilla Glue #4, Mandarin Sunset, Citral Sunset. And in each of those there's a ton more. So it's to be expected. Tall and short, flat top and spear buds, some done at 9 weeks and others at 10 weeks, some of the plants foxtail out at the end, branchy plants vs. not branchy, etc., etc. Who cares, it all looks great.
3. Trichomes......I've spent a lot of time looking at these plants and have many good views of tric's up and down the plants. They are just refusing to turn amber (reddish)........this is typical on many sativa's- they just won't turn darker no matter how long they flower. The buds are covered in cloudy trichomes, thick and large. I've resisted cutting some of the plants I thought were done and it ended up being the right thing to do. These specific plants also continue to look better and better. I'm going to start cutting on Sunday, day 69 and will finish on Monday day 70, Ethos's recommended finish date.
4. I'm not really smoking much these days, just doing thc capsules for health reasons. I've tried smoking one small bud, quick dried in a food dehydrator 2 nights ago. The high was very long lasting- hours and hours. I still felt it the next morning. I don't think the high was developed yet- it was kind of spacey and dreamy. This will change as the as the plants will have another 7 days to grow and finish up with a proper drying and curing process. The taste came thru even with the quick dry, which is a good sign.
I refuse to put up bad pic's that don't due the room justice.....I'm stilling working on getting a camera.
Back on in 5 days.
