Ethos "Thug Roze" meets the Gavita Pro LED's............

So, by the looks of things, I’m just about ready to flower in 1-2 days. Whatever day I switch I’ll defoliate and lolipop everything and clean them all up for the 70 day flowering period. Last crop, I regretted not defoliating heavier the first time and ended up doing it twice basically. I’ll go heavy this time.

Remember, the breeder states this current strain doesn’t put off many leaves……lol let’s just agree these lights could grow leaves off a cactus.

1st day of flowering means its time for a lollipopping and defoliation. Compare todays pic below to the others for an idea how many leaves were removed, but about 3/4 of a kitchen trash bag total. And of course I removed the 2 largest sun leaves off each plant a few days ago. As previously detailed in past grows, this room will bounce back quickly.

When are you going to purecrop them.

I'm thinking this crop I'm going to use that "old fashioned" recipe I've mentioned instead......... I've posted it before:

2 quarts warm water
1/4 cup Tea Tree soap by Dr. Woods
1/4 cup Peppermint soap by Dr. Woods
1 tablespoon Hydrogen Peroxide
1 cup 70% rubbing alcohol

I like this as it's more effective against more insects than the Pure Crop. I think I'll do a REALLY HEAVY spray of this between the 7th and 10th day of flowering. I've seen a few things flying around in the basement and this spray will do a better job than the Purecrop. I still need to give it more thought.

Which breeder's super skunk are they mate? They look awesome!

They were freebies, so I’m not entirely sure at this point. I guess I could ask……..

The room rebounds quickly…….

At this point moving forward, I will continue to remove any leaves that block bud sites below………past that, maybe another thorough defoliation in maybe in 3 weeks. I think I still need to be a little more aggressive, it’s something to tackle tomorrow while it’s raining.

The Super Skunk seeds are from the All American Seed Bank………..freebies

it looks like I’m going to have to take these at least another 10 days for them to get large enough. I’m not seeing many branches at this point…….

I’m going to start moving up the nutes to around 750-800 ppm and go at 10ml cal/mag for a week or two. Tues or wed night I’ll give the room and plants a preventative spray. It will take about 1 gallon to do the plants, walls and floor. Lights off at 11pm, I’ll give it an hour in the dark while the room cools down, then hit it.

At this point, it’s all about bud sites and making sure all bud sites are not covered up by leaves above them……..I just went thru and pulled a handful, more will go later on when time allows.

Hey sshz,they are looking great. these pictures are really helpful as I’m trying to copy your defoliation technique. What was the average height when you flipped them? And do you lower the lights the same day?

I started to take some pic's, and the iPad died so I'm back on the computer. I'm going to detail later what leaves should leave next as I'll mark them up with an "X"........check back later tonight.

I'm much more concerned about developing a "bush", as opposed to getting any height of the them. My best yielding rooms were always short, as I WANT THE PLANTS SHORT so the lights don't have to penetrate far. Average plant height now is around 12-14 inches, which is perfect. Again, it's all about bud sites since each one becomes a bud. The way you get them to develop is to make sure they are not covered up by leaves above blocking light from hitting them.

Still, the above pic shows way to many leaves at this point and I'll need to go thru the room again tonight or tomorrow. Remember, the breeder says this strain does not put off a lot of leaves. LOL LOL Wanna bet? All the large leaves you see HAVE TO GO, but don't worry, there's plenty of smaller stuff that will grow large in time. I regretted not taking enough last crop early on, and had to pull the roon apart to defoliate again in weeks 5-6. I don't want to do that again. So I have to push myself to remove more and more early on (right now).

Again I will recommend a thread over at thc farmer I did in 2020 which has about 65k views, google “sshz and Orange Gasm and thc Farmer” and the thread should be at the top of the page. I put various links in there, mainly Ethos Genetics has a great defoliation instruction on the website and also Rasta Jeff from Irie Seeds has a great podcast. Much of course depends on the strain, but anything that yields well also makes for a strain that defoliates well too.
