Havent started my first grow yet but getting all the stuff as money lets me....wont be long probley mid January Ill be ready to set it all up and test it. well I bought pre made tubs cause Im lazy. I plan on growing in a bathroom I never use. Ok going to put a 5 ft by 2.2 ft piece of plywood over the bathtub and do all my draining right in tub and have a RO machine hooked to shower head for good water. Well the tubs didnt have drains and they are 10 gallon tubs...2 of em. IVe looked and looked and searech and wore fingers out trying to figure nice way to put hole in tub and us ball valve hooked to hose to drain in bathtub....shit they want way to much for a bulkhead nearly 20 bucks and you still hve to get ball valve and connet to tub...probley around 23 dollare per tub.............WELL FUCK that.......here is a pic of my tub and stuff and idea of bathroom remember IM putting 3/4 in plywood mouted to bathtub and tent on that and areo tubs in tent.....
this is a 10 gallon tote with 9 2 inch planters
air stone and water pump.
So all you need to do and this is important go buy a male electric pvc connector for 20 cents and a female connector same price then get a slip on ball valve 2.00 and 4 inchs of 1/2 inch pvc pipe. make sure its electric because they have straight threads , plumbing has tapered threas.....get a neoprem gasget and a hole saw Im useing my dremil tool to cut hole in tube all at lowes for under 3 dollars and the guy even glued the ball valve on and glued pipe to fitting for free.............FUCK awesome
Here are pics of what they look like
you can cut the back part off the female threade fitting and put it inside tub as a nut with gaset use a hack saw or dremil to to dress it up.....and walla you have a bulkhead fitting and a ballvalve for you rubbermaid tubs or tote tubes for less than 3 bucks.......so this shouild save you a ton of serching for drains for tubs.....I didnt like the eb and flow stuff to costly...this is perfect if you are still reading this THANKS TO EVERYONE ON HERE YOU HAVE BE SO GREAT helping me and useing the search engine first before the dumb questioin helps a ton....GEEZE the DIY alone is worth a ton of money for all the knowlege there.
Anyways maybe this is a little pay back. oh you use the 1/2 pipe to connect ball valve to bulkhead.
