Hey guys and gals,
I've been experimenting with a new DIY hydro/aero system for the last couple of cycles but this time round, boy did it seem like everything went wrong.
A couple of the pots in the system flooded several times damaging plant roots, the pH went through periods where it just fluctuated like crazy causing speckling on the leaves and stress to the plants, the EC levels would be fine one day and through the roof the next which burned leaf tips and, combined with the fluctuating pH, probably caused some nutrient lockout. One plant got light burn even though it was the same distance from the light as other plants which were fine... It was crazy, but at least now I am prepared and can fix all these things for the next cycle.
That said, I still got some killer end product.
As some of you may know, I'm a big fan of Serious Seeds AK-47 and with so many seed companies pumping out unstabilised strains I'd just like to say; for anyone looking for a nice purebred that can handle pretty much anything that you throw at it, rather than some mongrel strain that has been mashed together, look no further than Serious Seeds. I'm not saying other seed companies are bad, I've had many great strains from various different seed companies, but Serious Seeds never ceases to amaze me. They keep to a few nicely refined, solid strains and always bring quality to the table. I have nothing but respect for those guys!
Anyway, even with all those things going wrong, these fierce Pit Bull like plants still managed to pull off an impressive performance! Here are a few pics of my AK-47 just under a week away from harvest.
Enjoy!
