Wasn't sure where else to post this but check out the pictures.

It was hard to get a good one of the bud. but its half green and half white as well. As if grows a bit more ill try to get a better picture.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

This is actually a common trait in the horticulture industry but somewhat rare in pot. Occurs in animals as well.

Any chance you are located in California? I would kill for a cutting of that to experiment with.

Never seen anything like that, it looks really weird, do you know the strain ?

BTW you could post it in the thread about mutant pictures in my signature :)

The strain is sweet island skunk. And @ gastanker. Its hard to tell from the pictures but the whole plant isnt like this its just one branch off the main stalk. there was only one place for me to take a cutting and i did but the cutting is all white not white and green. Ill keep it touch with how it turns out. this plant was already weeks into bud so getting the cutting i took to transition back to veg from being in bud will take some time. if the cutting does good and you still want one a month down the road thats all white then we will see.

Sounds great but I would be just as happy with a cutting from one of it's green branches - guessing it is too late for that though :)

Hopefully the cutting you took wasn't completely white or it don't be able to perform photosynthesis and will surely die. The genes for the white parts should be all though your plant though so any cutting would work for me :)

Just because its not green does not mean it cant perform photosynthesis. Also it may or may not grow out of it.....

Research it - they can't perform photosynthesis. There is no chlorophyll nor enough carotenoids for the leaf to maintain itself. This is why you will never see completely albino mature plants but instead the chimeras.

Ever seen a japanese maple tree? Not a single green leaf on the entire plant. They seem to live just fine.........

Right but I don't believe Japanese Maples are white leaved, either. They still have chlorophyll, you just don't see the green because there are more carotenoids and anthocyanins (additional pigments) which overpower it. If you were to put a Japanese Maple in the shade it probably would turn green.

Like I stated before, I would love some variegated genetics to fool around with. If you end up with seeds feel free to drop me a line :)
