Every revolution begins with someone taking a stand.

When I first started growing cannabis just a little over a year ago when I received my first medical authorization, I had no idea the journey I had just begun! What started as a quest to build one of the first legal recreational cannabis farms has morphed into a mission that involves a lot more than just cannabis and our individual rights.

I started a secret group on facebook when I first started down this road, and 400 some of my friends have followed along. Some have dropped out, but amazingly, I have gained more friends since I started this effort. The goals on my agenda stretch far and beyond just the marijuana issue, but I believe that is where my real trials begin to shape the bigger picture.

The unit I'm renting that contains my grow is being inspected on Friday. Being on the more conservative side of the state, there are moratoriums on grows anywhere within city limits. Obviously, the moratoriums are wrong and I am just to violate them. My concern is the property managers reaction when he sees 10 bushes 1/2 done flowering staring him in the face upon his inspection. Of course they will be accompanied by my authorization, but I'm curious what they may try to do. Just getting myself prepared for the fight ahead!

Does it help to know that I have friends in local law enforcement and have had uniformed officers in the grow?

Was hoping to hear opinions from those more experienced with this. I'm getting mixed opinions from the real life friends and they're making valid points on each side...

I do my part by making a stand by simply doing what i do, in the state i do it in, and encourage others to do so. They can't arrest us all...

I actually thought about a straight up defiant way of going about it, by giving away clones in spring to everyone that wanted them, to plant outside, in plain sight. If every single house, has it growing on property, what are they going to do? Try to arrest everyone? No effing way.

I'm trying to do the same thing and figure i better get started now so i'm ready to hit the ground running when the laws catch up. seems like a group, the way you're going about it, is just a more successful way to go about it. so RIU is poised to be a good networking opportunity for those of us serious about putting in the work and taking the risk to do it the right way. I'm interested in both full outdoor production and greenhouse production. Its hard to find other people who are interested in this for more than the potential cash grab though. I like to hear that you're interested in linking this endeavor to the broader goal of individual rights protection and reclamation. I've decided on making the stand. I'm within my legal rights and I can use the occasion as an opportunity to educate. Since I've pretty much eliminated my chances of going back to work in the nuclear field anytime soon, a friend suggested setting up a GoFundMe page about the cause and go from there.

When I was planning the reality series, one of the core elements was charity work. The rental that I'm in I was planning on purchasing and then turning around and using for families to live in for periods of 6-12 months while they get their feet back on the ground.

But I just have too lofty of goals, sometimes.

Things went well this morning. I made a minimal effort to obstruct my tiny grow from view, but certainly he heard some noise, saw some lights, and most certainly caught some very pleasant odors. No mention was made of it at all. Now that's not to say that he did indeed know what I had going on behind that large empty stack of boxes and will return at a later date, but for now I'm "safe".

Also used some time this afternoon to not only call my local state senator, but write an email as well. Enjoy.

2149, if passed, will place undue hardships on an undtold many. My name is Jason Nolte and I am a former Hanford worker. I've worked as a Senior Radiological Control Technician & Senior Health Physics Technician for various companies. I'm currently undergoing my 3rd layoff in 4 years.


I'm also a medical marijuana patient. Patients don't just smoke the flowers, but often process the plants into friendlier edible or otherwise concentrated forms like oil or butter. The limitations proposed will severely limit patient's abilities to do this.


In addition to the unrealistic reduction of plant numbers, the forcing of everyone to place 3 in flower and 3 in vegetative states is not feasible for a few reasons. People with limited indoor garden space often only run one phase at a time. Those lucky enough to be able to grow outdoors in nature have absolutely no control over the cycles and would effectively be limited to 3 plants PER YEAR.

Please consider what I have to say and call me, maybe?

While I-502 is still in its infancy and regulators are scrambling to figure everything out, it is best to not mess with a system that is not broken. Get 502 up and running smoothly before making any attempts to change current medical marijuana laws.


If anything, add protection for patients (even every Washington resident!) for employment purposes. I've taken a huge risk to my professional life for my vocal support of these issues and I hope you will consider my opinions seriously.

Glad to see somebody active in contacting their reps about this issue...I've sent out dozens of emails pleading my case and telling my story about my severe ulcerative colitis and cannabis use. They need to know that there are real patients out there that will suffer from these new amendments to RCW 69.51a.

Not that I'm aware of, not related to Nick either, for those wondering. I'm not a local Nolte, came here from MO on the Obama Bucks and have been involved with DC budget games ever since. It's pretty sickening, really, the way their union their holds sway over the workers to vote this way or that.

But that's another post for another thread.

I should mention that I also called her office twice and left voicemails both times essentially making sure that she was aware of my position as her constituent and that I would be following up with a more detailed email. Hopefully, she gets the message!

Well, after the property manager spoke to the property owner; they came back at me later with a demand to move by Monday or face eviction. You see, I recently divorced my wife and took full custody of our kids. She's a bit of a hot mess and I've had to bail her out of financial trouble more than once. A few times those "saves" set my rent a day or 2 late but I always communicated and it was never a problem. Do the same thing this time and suddenly I'm getting a walk through because they suspect pot on the property and then demand me to leave?
