Everyone seems to be harvesting early. Weather or?

At least in most parts of Cali, the weather has been very good so far, but I'm noticing most people have already harvested or are in the process. Usually it's mid October or later.

Are plants ripening faster because of the weather, or are folks just jumping the gun? Most plants didn't start flowering til sometime in August, so it hasn't even been sixty days yet

yeah i'm in San Diego right now visiting and even 1/2 mile off the coast it's been high 80's low 90's every day, my son had to harvest early because the heat was killing & bud worms were getting bad.

I've only harvested early when the rains come and rot starts. Budworms can be gotten rid of, just have to keep spraying every week

and really, most or all of the rot I've had was caused by budworms

if weather is bad thats probably the reason why. I live in colder climates and here people have to cut it early or finish it inside if they get a bad summer/fall. with colder temps lots of rain and high humidity and you have a risk of getting budrot. at least that is why most people here cut early since there is just no time for buds to finish unless growing autos or some very rare strains.

Yeah, that's true in many parts of the country. But Cali has been dry and warm so far

May be. I know of people in the area who pulled because it smelled like skunk and they figured they were done

Yeah I was going to post the exact same thread, I've been seeing a lot of harvests on here starting in early August and so on. It really makes you wonder if plants are finishing early or people are just simply harvesting prematurely. I mean I do realize that's Auto's are getting huge these days, but I know for a fact the majority of harvests I have been looking at were not 100% auto's or completely finished. I don't know but I have been holding back as long as I can, and have only harvested a few for early smoke and still have plenty outside to chop. I live in Northern Ontario and have all ready been through 3 nights of -1 and -2 degrees celcius. My plants so far have been great, however this Thanksgiving weekend it's supposed to go down to -4 or -5 one night and back up again above zero for a few days and hot the week after. So with that all being said I guess I too may be cutting mine this weekend and they'll all be at 8 weeks and 9 weeks for a few.

I've noticed a lot of plants, including mine, started flipping around first week of August this year. Usually they would of flipped 1 or 2 weeks into August a year ago.

Most just harvest early because they can't wait. Others, because of rippers/stress/security.

Grow I am helping with this year started flowering around the middle of August, and we've been longingly looking at the buds, the plumping may be about done. Except for one plant, the hairs are all brown and receding.

In years past I've never pulled before the middle of October. I'm not one to put too much stock in strictly going by trichs, and honestly have never seen any amber trichs on any plant is past grows. These all seem mostly cloudy right now, no amber so we are thinking most may be ready in about a week

I only harvested a couple so far. They started flowering July 10th (preflowered in June). My others are still 1-2+ weeks out.

I noticed it has been fast. Been growing for 16 years and never harvested a plant on Oct. 2nd. I got 9 plants still to finish though. (oregon)

Been seeing top growers harvesting as well. So I know it's not everybody jumping the gun.
