I find this story interesting and frightening because of late through the grapevine and circles of people I know that are in this game or related to somehow, I have been hearing that many(what percentage that is IDK) of the grow shops that pop around this nation may not only have regular surveillance by police who take down plates and info and use it as criteria for raiding your residence but that the grow shops themselves can be police ops much like the many pawn and chop shops around the nation that are used in police stings or to obtain intel.

The war on drugs continues on I guess.

I bet they were planning on growing weed. The tomato grow was to test the waters. Them waters were indeed rough. Who the fuck grows $1-2 each tomatoes?

You can grow and clone a lot of tomato plants and send em outside and transplant em into neat rows under a trellis by starting them inside.

It seems to me that what this story conveys between the lines is that all of the echelons of gov't haven't begun to coalesce and collude such that big bro is fully matured. Otherwise, CIA assets would have been aware of the operation to swoop in on their tomatoes. It says, gov't is watching you, but in disarray. I would think technology could do away with the limited jurisdiction of various departments of law enforcement although, CBP didn't seem to know about an expired driver's license when I crossed a few months ago but I'm sure an expired passport would have been trouble. I see maturation of big bro as a complete erosion of jurisdiction aided by technology such that all armed bureaucrats in all echelons of gov't from FBI to the Chula Vista Police department would have real time concise info on all US citizens and jurisdiction to enforce laws implemented at all levels of gov't.

This type of thing really affects cannabis growers, as already there are conflicting positions regarding the legality of the plant at different echelons of gov't.

Echelon...

Or it could be saying, "we even eat our own young." If their own will get busted, no one is off their radar. They would've done the bust even if they knew.

i grew weed before i ever had a garden. I can honestly say right now that the only things i have growing in my house are pepper plants.
