In his own state, Graham is booed Republican voters and Trump is not only cheered in front of Graham but then Trump goes on to belittle and diminishes Graham in front of SC voters. As if any proof was needed an longer, but here it is. Proof that MAGA fascism is not about a political party but the cult of Trump. If anybody needs to know what authoritarianism is, that's it.
What happens when the cult leader dies or is removed from the scene? I think the experience of other such personality cults might be useful. Trump is about to be removed from the scene, in a matter of months, perhaps before the primary as his legal troubles mount. How will his base react? Meatball Ron is a distant second at this point in the GOP primaries and his legal peril seems to make no difference to the base. Much depends on Trump and if he turns on the republican party for "disloyalty", they will need to wait until he is locked up before they say anything other than support him.
Things are about to get even more interesting in the case of Donald Trump, the GOP, its base and American politics. One can only hope such division and confusion among the republicans as Trump goes down in flames screaming and swinging will benefit the democrats enough in 24. Trump won't go down alone either, plenty of republicans will go down with him over J6 and its associated conspiracies. So far Just Donald and his butler have been indicted, but there were plenty more people involved in the MAL documents case, and the J6 indictments are getting closer too. It is gonna be one Helluva year for Donald and the republicans IMO and the fun should continue right up to election day and beyond.
