The bunch of psychos and cutthroats can't even take care of their own internal business, much less the business of the country, which they would only fuck up anyway if they could. You can only hope those from the more moderate districts will be defeated by this bullshit and they are worried about it too and want off the crazy train. Gaetz and MTG can be as nuts as they want and not worry about reelection in their ruby red districts, but others not so much, including bobo who won her seat by 500 votes and just made the news as a slut on video.
But she’s a slut

Tuberville to try going around his own blockade to confirm Marine commandant
Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) told senators that he will attempt to force a one-off vote on Wednesday to confirm Gen. Eric Smith to become the new commandant for the Marine Corps while he maintains his blockade on more than 300 military promotions.

Tuberville told Senate Republicans on Tuesday during their weekly conference lunch that he will go to the floor and attempt to bring Smith’s nomination up for consideration, which would tee up a cloture vote unless Senate Democrats object to his effort.

“In a meager way, it’s progress,” one Senate Republican told The Hill about Tuberville’s push.
The senator noted that another member of the conference was planning to force the one-off vote, but Tuberville stepped up to do it himself.
The Daily Signal first reported Tuberville’s plans.

A total of 17 GOP senators, including the former Auburn University football coach, signed a petition launched by Tuberville to back a cloture motion on the floor. Most of those who signed the petition are fellow Senate conservatives. Sixteen signatures are needed to present a cloture motion on the floor.

Gen. David Berger stepped down from the post in mid-July, leaving the Marines without a Senate-confirmed leader for the first time in over 150 years due to Tuberville’s ongoing hold over the Pentagon’s policy enacted last year that covers the travel expenses of service members to seek abortion care.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) had attempted to force a vote on Smith’s nomination prior to the August recess, but Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) dissuaded the push as Republicans sought an offramp with Tuberville to end his hold.

It is unclear whether Senate Democrats will object to the motion. The party has maintained that it does not have plans to hold one-off votes on top military leaders and has yet to say whether he will do so for Gen. Charles “C.Q.” Brown to replace Mark Milley as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Milley’s term expires on Oct. 1.

Democrats have laid responsibility at the feet of Senate Republicans to find a deal to end Tuberville’s hold. McConnell has made clear that he does not agree with Tuberville’s tactics, but has been unable to find a way to end the hold that has lasted for more than six months.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Tuberville said of McConnell’s stance on the blockade. “I work for the people of Alabama. They want a voice to say what happens with taxpayer money.”

The Alabama Republican added that he has not talked about the situation with anyone from the Pentagon since July.
“Zero. Nilch. None. Crickets,” Tuberville told reporters on Tuesday. “They know where I stand. I’m not changing my mind.”

House GOP Unveils Budget With Trillions in Cuts to Medicaid, Food Benefits, and More
The new proposal underscores the Republican Party's "thirst for cruel budget cuts," said Democratic Rep. Brendan Boyle.
I'm amazed they let that out. You'd think they would want to keep those cards close to their collective chests until after the election.

Plenty of magats live on those benefits so how will this help carry the ball across the goal line?

Dumber and dumber.

How many of their voters will fuck themselves? How many morons in America will vote to cut their own throats? It's ok because foxnews and the republicans would just blame the democrats. The advantage of a fact free fanatical base is unconditional support, even if their policies directly harm them, as long as they "get" somebody they don't like.

There will be tens of millions of Americans who will vote to screw themselves in one way or another and it's not like it isn't obvious either, I mean before the republicans did a half decent job of faking and hiding it, but now it's all out in the open. They will screw the base for more tax cuts to the super rich, more destruction of the social programs they depend on to live, they will bitch about higher drug prices that they voted for. Along with the sweet koolaid of getting those they hate it also contains piss and there are turds floating around in it. People compare it to Jonestown for a reason, another bunch of people who fucked themselves by listening to bullshit and being led by a psycho.

“I find Rudy in the back of the tent with, among others, John Eastman,” Hutchinson writes in an excerpt obtained by The Guardian. “The corners of his mouth split into a Cheshire cat smile. Waving a stack of documents, he moves towards me, like a wolf closing in on its prey.”

Giuliani crowed that he had “evidence” the election had indeed been stolen, saying, “It’s all here. We’re going to pull this off,” according to Hutchinson.

“Rudy wraps one arm around my body, closing the space that was separating us,” she continues. “I feel his stack of documents press into the small of my back. I lower my eyes and watch his free hand reach for the hem of my blazer. ‘By the way,’ he says, fingering the fabric, ‘I’m loving this leather jacket on you.’ His hand slips under my blazer, then my skirt.”

“I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh,” Hutchinson goes on. “He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to [Trump adviser] John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin.

“I fight against the tension in my muscles and recoil from Rudy’s grip … filled with rage, I storm through the tent, on yet another quest for Mark [Meadows, Trump’s fourth and final chief of staff].”

Yeah, of course it's hollow showmanship...but that's a solid ass move in a battleground state. The rust belt states swung back blue in 2020 after Clinton lost them in 2016. It's a mistake by biden to not have been all over this. Joe can't rest on his laurels and get complacent, voters aren't going to give a shit that the union leadership backs the dems, that was something they should have learned in 2016.

I'm not commenting on policy or who would actually benefit the voters, it's the optics and "feels" of who people think is on their side.

Republicans in letter to White House vow to oppose further Ukraine aid
Republicans in a new letter to the White House are vowing to oppose further aid to Ukraine, asking questions about where the money’s going and whether Kyiv is making progress against Russia.

“The American people deserve to know what their money has gone to. How is the counteroffensive going? Are the Ukrainians any closer to victory than they were 6 months ago? What is our strategy, and what is the president’s exit plan? What does the administration define as victory in Ukraine?” reads the letter, with more than two dozen signatures from senators and members of Congress.

The lawmakers argue in the letter that it would be “an absurd abdication of congressional responsibility” to grant the White House request for additional aid without answers to the inquiries.

“For these reasons—and certainly until we receive answers to the questions above and others forthcoming—we oppose the additional expenditure for war in Ukraine included in your request.”

Republican Sens. JD Vance (Ohio), Tommy Tuberville (Ala.), Rand Paul (Ky.) and Mike Braun (Ind.) are among the signatures, as are GOP Reps. Chip Roy (Texas), Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Clay Higgins (La.) and Byron Donalds (Fla.).

“Yesterday at a classified briefing over Ukraine, it became clear that America is being asked to fund an indefinite conflict with unlimited resources. Enough is enough. To these and future requests, my colleagues and I say: NO,” Vance wrote on X, sharing the letter.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is returning to Washington on Thursday, less than a year after his last visit to the U.S. capital, and is expected to meet with congressional leadership and some lawmakers during his visit.

President Biden has requested $24 billion in additional funding for Ukraine as the country continues to fend of Russian aggression, a year-and-a-half after Moscow invaded its neighbor.

“The vast majority of Congress remains unaware of how much the United States has spent to date in total on this conflict, information which is necessary for Congress to prudently exercise its appropriations power. It is difficult to envision a benign explanation for this lack of clarity,” the lawmakers’ letter reads.
