fuck a lot. just fuck and use it as an actual work out. have a routine and stick to it.... 5 min in this possition, then 5 in another.... and work on your stamina so ur "reps take longer"
if that does not work or isnt viable try starting with small weights and move up
Can anyone suggest a good workout routine?
I'm not looking to make myself into a spartan..yet.
How about some general tips, e.g. if you're feeling hungry drink a glass of water.
I realise google could help but it'd be great to hear some advice from people who've been there and done that.
