Exhaust Fan/Ventilatioin Help!

I need help figuring out what kind of exhaust fans to run. I have a 20x7x11 room so I need about 500 CFM for my grow space, correct me if im wrong. I plan on running 2 1000w HPS's in my flowering space and 1 MH and a 4ft 8 bulb t5 hood in the veg space and would be venting out just above the grow area. I'm wondering if my 8" vortex inline fan(747cfm) w/ ducting would be sufficient enough to vent all 3 lights? And also what kind of exhaust fan should I get that would run quietly and at sufficient enough cfm to vent the given area? Thanks.

Do you know how long your ducting will be? also will you be pulling through a carbon filter? As far as quite goes you could put a muffler at the end of your fan, but honestly with that much shit going on in a grow you probably won't be able to help the noise.

I dont think ill have the need for a carbon filter. I haven't really figured ducting length yet but my exhaust will be in the middle right above the grow room. I just kinda need some sort of exhaust setup to vent the grow room besides my inline fan and standard circulating fans. Am i going to need another primary exhaust fan above the grow room to vent grow area? and i dont plan on using the vortex full time just to vent the hoods intermitantly.

If smell is ever going to be an issue i would get a carbon filter. I have one plant that is pretty small and in veg, i can smell her when i walk inside my house when i don't have my fan running. As for your hoods you are probably going to want to exhaust them when they are on cuz those fuckers get hot. plus if you do cool them all the time you can put them closer to your plants. So to answer your question yes that fan will Easily cool all of your lights. As long as you don't want to scrub your whole room for smell and add a carbon filter. Other wise that fan will be straight overkill for cooling those hoods :).

ok and as far as ventilating the grow area in general should i get another fan to vent out my grow space @ about 500 cfm? I was only planning on running the vortex for 10-20 minutes out of the hour on the hoods or however much is needed to cool them and I'm not too concerned with the smell =P

Yeah i would say you should. since you have such a big area i would also use the vortex that is cooling the hood to exhaust as well. "dunno if you all ready said you were going to." That way you can try to create negative pressure inside your grow room and suck fresh air in.

sorry what part were you agreeing with? getting another exhaust fan for the grow space or just using the vortex? I was planning on exhausting the hoods out the top as well w/ ducting but dont think that will be sufficient for the grow space i have?
