exhaust fans?

i have 2-160cfm inline fans. i need a bigger exhaust fan. there is so many different inline fans and places to buy them. where is the best place to buy one at a good price?

so no one uses a exhaust fan?

just called my local hydro shop $180 is the cheapest 6" inline fan. i only have 1 hydro shop by me also and it's 30 minutes away.

Yeah, you are probably going to have to go with that $180 unit. If it's your only option, you are going to have to choose it. You can follow that link above and just get it online. But you can't find the bigger type fans you are looking for at home depot.

ebay works....You can get a Tjernlund 6" 530cfm for $100 shipped in the US.

I wonder though, how much are you cooling? 320cfm is a fair amount. How are your ducts setup? Long runs, multiple bends? Air cooled hood?

I only ask because I use three 110cfm 8" coolermaster fans and my 6' x 5' x 2' space, with 600w HPS stays around 80. One vents the tent to a carbon filter, one pushes air to the hood, one pulls it from the hood on the other side. It works really well. The beauty of those fans is that when the ballast stops running you can't hear anything at all. If you get close enough you can hear a faint hum like a refrigerator running somewhere but that's it.

One of the most overlooked items in ventilation is having a vent for air to come in. I run a short S shaped 4" duct under my tent with the inside end coming up and pointing towards the top of the plants. Prior to putting in the vent, my max temp was 86, now it's 80. Pretty good temp drop for no money.

my closet is 42"W x 32"D x 86"H. i had low 90's when i first put the 400 watt mh in my closet with a bat wing reflector.i added a sunspot6 air cooled hood. i have a 160cfm inline fan blowing cold air from my bathroom into my closet, with my bathroom door shut and window open. i have a couple feet of tube from hood to another 160cfm inline fan, to pull air threw hood. and that has a hose then runs down the wall and pointing out my closet at bottom of door, with door closed to flex ducting.

So approx 70 cubic ft... Although you could try stuff like minimizing bends in the ducts, reposititioning the fans etc. you are probably better off getting the fan I mentioned above.
