Exhausting a/c through dryer port

I bought a portable ac unit today and figured I'd hook the exhaust up to the exhaust line coming out of my dryer, since I have no windows in my basement.

Problem is, some of the hot air is blowing back into my dryer, which is a free way to dry my clothes, but it's also keeping the ac unit from dropping the temp under 80.

So, I'm wondering if buying a small inline fan that can go on the end of the duct (near the exit, so it's blowing air out the house) will keep the air flowing up and out of the house instead of back down into my dryer.

What do ya guys think?

I did something similar and my portable ac didn't last long. First off the ac exhaust is probably 6 inch , a dryer vent 4 inch. I'd stick with a 6 inch exhaust and make it just as short as possible with no booster fan involved.

You think it later a bad idea reducing the duct to 4 in? Problem is I don't have a 6 in duct down there.

I'm just giving you my opinion based on personal experience but reducing to 4 inch will more than likely have adverse affects on your portable. If you do choose that route and the 4 inch run is real long a booster fan would be a good idea .

For sure, thanks man that's good advice.

I've got it fixed for now, Temps just hit 79f. My ducting was a little long, but the damn thing only came with a 3ft power cord and it specifically says not to use an extension cord...

I scrapped the shitty ducting that came with it and used some extra semi insulated ducting I had laying around. I also ran it straight to the exhaust port, so my dryer is fucked and I'm gonna have to find another option to exhaust that, but for now my room is cooled down.

I'm definitely going to go to the hardware store tomorrow to grab some foam insulated ducting, that should really knock the exhaust heat down.

Also, I've got a bunch of led parts coming in this week so I can scrap the hps and run a little cooler. I'm d

Thanks for the help
