Exo Terra Bulbs

I was at Big Als and they said that the Exo Terra Sun-glo bulbs contains metal halide lumens. I am just wondering if a 150 watt in a cage fixture is enough to grow a couple of plants? Do these bulbs get too hot? Would a 100 watt do?? The reason why I am wondering this is because I have a 150 watt fixture and all I need is a 150 watt or less MH light bulb. Its a stubborn one to find been everywhere Rona, Home Depot, Wal'Mart , Hydroponics shops. They either dont carry anything that high or at hydroponics shops that small. HPS bulbs found easy at any retailer however. Any help would be appreciated.

The 100 watt seems to be used for terrariums. The 150 watt is a basking light used for reptiles.

They must put off some heat because "another important factor is the heat emitted by this bulb to increase the over all ambient temperature in the terrarium".

Do you want a bulb that "stimulates breeding behavior through UVA rays"? LOL

Found bulbs through a wholesaler in Toronto 91.50 with taxes for two 150 watt 6000k MH bulbs. Great deal, Planning on grabbing some HPS in a couple weeks. Im only usiny 150 watts because the lumen ratio is extra high on these particular bulbs. Im also only growing two plants max. I think that this will do the job pretty good providing there are in my closet. If anyone has second opinions feel free to let me know.

What does "contains metal halide lumens" even mean??? Does it mean it emits as much lumens as a MH bulb? or are they saying it is a MH bulb when it's obviously a normal halogen incandescent???
