Well it all depends on your set up and what you'd like to achieve. My Exodus Cheese is an autoflower and her is smell is pretty potent with her size. She's very vigorous as well and reacts to LST with ease. but you have to be patient on when to start LST because if you start too soon like I did the stalk ends up touching the dirt a bit which if I waited I could of got a more straight 90 degree angle LST producing better buds because light reception. If you look at mine it's more of a curve. Also I don't know if marijuana does grow roots, possibly if you water it more directly in that area but I didn't because I started getting branches from there.
If you use a non-autoflower you can veg it for as long as you want so you could maximize out your box with vegetation growth lst'd.. so basically a 90 degree angle then induce flowering and the side branches will grow up and you'll get lovely sized buds that will come out decently dense if you keep the lights close to the buds. With CFLs you always wanna keep your buds 1-2 inches from the CFLs so you plant can receive a powerful amount of light and just slowly move her down as she grows. (If your gonna use CFLs) Now when using a regular cycle plant you'll also spend more time in veg and more time in flower. Overall a longer grow.
So another factor to consider is time, when do you wanna harvest and how large? Longer, obviously a larger harvest (Regular). Shorter, smaller (Autoflower).
