Cfl and t5s have a great spectrum but they r only good for around 2.5' maybe 3. Then just aren't intense enough for anything past that.. So I would put them as close to the plant as possible. They will only get burned if they touch it for at long period of time.. It's almost impossible to tell the yield of them cause there r soon many factors.. But .5 grams per watt is what most ppl shoot for .. Anything more than that and your doing well.

Miracle grow isn't bad either but most of the stuff in it is time released and won't really be available to the plant till after its dead.. Happy frog is pretty good but yes you totally need to cut it with lots of perlite it's made to keep a frog happy meaning hold lost of water.. Personally I like my soul to drain very fast.. Last thing is shoot for a super bushy plant. U gotta remember once it starts to flower its going to double if not triple in size. She will spread out and give most nodes light.

Thanks mate first help on the topic ! Just wanted something to aim for she's been topped 3 times, and monster cropped so I'm doing everything to max yield. They are 2" away today since I tied her down so she bends up. Forgot if that's LST or Monster cropping hahaha

Yeah I got the impression off CobeastMode that bushy is better! I just had the soil around and it looked nice and fresh so I used it and learnt about perlite later on but I'm not having much problem with soil drainage since I didn't push the soil down just left it soft I'm going for a fox farm ocean mix with seaweed for my next one (if this one goes perfect)

Don't mind Dobbs. CC Dobb has been growing for 50 years and always yields 5 grams per plant.

CFLs work best in the horizontal position or otherwise get a reflector for it... you can veg some nice 2 foot plants under T8'.. 3 foot under T5.. LED is great for vegging and keeping the stretch down. but anything bigger and you might as well use HID to veg so you don't have to veg for months

I'm not rushing it I'm looking for quality and quantity that's why to make up for not using HID or HPS I'm using as many LSTs ,MST and HST, lollipoping, monster cropping, super cropping, SCROG

I think your doing ok for your second grow keep doing whatever you have been doing people are suppose to b here to give advice and help not criticize i like your scrog as well I grow 95% if my beans on r.o water very very little nuets if any and I get top shelf icy plants every harvest good luck keep in Growing.

Update for everyone who has been contributing 
My big one is on like week 5 and was recently transplanted in to a 7.5 L tub with some miracle grow root+ soil.
My little one has started week 2 and is in a 2L tub with some of that root soil I picked up.
My plan is to leave the little one to grow naturally without training her and my big one has had all the techniques possible and compare them when it comes to harvest.
Equipment soon to be bought:
CFL lamp + 300watt Red bulb
250watt CFL blue bulb
Another desktop fan
Flowering nutrients from IONIC
PK boost from IONIC
Had an hour in the Hydro store when I was stoned looking for what I want
spotted what I'm moving up too next grow - a big ass 25+ plants tent with 2 600HPS and full kit for like £350
