My favorite seed starter soil(whole grow actually) is sunshine mix 4 with at least 25-33% grow stones or you can use Fox Farm's Light Warrior straight out of the bag:eyesmoke:

I started the seeds in jiffy cups and transplanted to organic potting mix.. Only used pure water no nutes.. The seeds are being refunded but I need a sure fire cure..im not new to growing but it is my first time growing imported seeds.. Maybe the humidity outdoors is too high for the seeds here in durban

Does this potting mix promise bigger or better plants? Organic doesn't mean the soil doesn't have nutrients added. Just that any additives are organic.

I've imported quite a few seeds from quite a few breeders and my first ones sprouted fine. After 4 years in a drawer I used the paper towel method and 5/5 seeds from The Vault popped, but 0/1 Royal Queen Seeds and 0/1 Critical Mass Collective seeds popped. Pretty good ratio for seeds left at room temp for 4 years, and all from good sellers.

I've never heard of the term "Unbalanced fems" but I can't imagine 0/10 seeds from Dinafem being bad. They are legit. That makes no sense whatsoever.

BTW - your soil looks like a NASA close up pic of the moon. I'd start there.

your soils way too hot and the little roots that you have probably can't breathe because you're lacking perlite/airation as well. thats my opinion

That's how the potting mix comes mate.. And no it doesn't promise high yields or anything other than just basic potting mix.. My new seeds came today {bubba kush}.. Any ideas on best soil for after I transplant from jiffy?

There is such thing as unbalanced strains.. They are prone to turn hermie.. And my soil might look like the moon but it's just tree bark, it's and alternative aeration method.. The soil drains well.. I might of fucked up by adding a slow release nute to my mix..o well they replaced the seeds

You killed the seeds and they replace them?! Sounds like you got lucky but you need to find some better soil and you can't put those seedlings in that kind of sun right away you'd do better starting in a pot somewhere with filtered sunlight in some better soil or the same thing's likely going to happen again. And just so you know it's not the seeds that are unbalanced, you haven't compensated for your growing conditions properly

Yea call me lucky but it's not the first time they replaced my seeds I'm used to the local seeds.. They thrive in the direct light from young... What balance soil should I buy.. Like 5-5-8 or what I'm not sure?

If you want to do them all the way in soil, try to find seedling mix for them while they are small and only move th4em to potting soil once they are established.

At this point of the year a new seedling is going to get its arse handed to it by the sun, You should have been in the soil a month or more ago already.
Plant it in a small nursery bag perforated very well with a paper punch, and keep it indoors under a 23W spiral CFL until you have a plant with a few real leaves, then gradually make it used to being outdoors. Remember to bag up every time the leaves reach the edge of the bag. Start with about a 10cm diameter bag or pot...

Germinating my bubba kush now, ..i don't want to put it under cfls as I'm working odd hours at the moment but I'll build a sunscreen using this green fiberglass sheeting I got. It should help.. And I picked bubba kush as it can cope with heat.. Hopefully I see success..this is my forth batch of 5 seeds and I only managed to grow 1(cali hash plant).. I'm soo stoked they kept replacing my seeds and they actually helping me get success

It is fine with a CFL, just hang it like 4 or 5 cm away, you don't "have" to have a time even, we just want to get the plant sparked well then you can transition it slowly to outside conditions.

The adult plant will cope fine. You just chucked your seeds too late for outdoors...i.m.o.

When I take clones again, I will cut one for you, so you can get some good genuine cheese up to those parts. we can speak about the courier later. Just remember to ask me again in about 2 or 3 weeks. I just installed a batch a few minutes ago, and they will need a topping by then, it will be tiny, so easy to overnight. Our original cuts were couriered from the UK in shipping tubes.

So I've been getting seeds from dinafem.. The last 10 seeds I got could only grow a very small first set of leaves before curling and dying.. It is not from over or under watering nor is it excessive sunlight.. Please help if u know the cause and solution... This may be unbalanced feminized seeds?
Echoing the thoughts of other members, the soil looks like too much clay and not enough compost. Seedlings grow well in well-aged compost of neutral pH which is typically deep, dark brown or approaching black.

Start off by putting Root Root cubes into rockwool blocks, (I use 4"), they hold water like nothing else so a soaked cube can go 4-5 days without needing watered again and even at that its only dipped in water for a few seconds every few days. Place the cubes on a wire tray or a fridge or oven grill works best and when you see roots coming through you can place the seedling and cube into the soil/medium.
