Experienced advice wanted - Rockwool/algae problem

Hey guys, I've got 4 mothers that I'm currently growing for my long-term setup and it seems that one of them has algae growing on a few of the cubes on the top (I keep a close watch on my babies, they're planted in big pots with rockwool growcubes). Any advice on how to rid them of the algae that's growing? I figure it's algae by the green color on the cubes. Thanks!

just take a black trash bag and cut out sections to cover the tops of your rockwool. If the algae dose not get light then it will die. I like this method over using more chemicals that can throw stuff off

Ahh basic biology I guess. In my panic to figure out a solution I forgot basic science data. Algae dies with no light source as there's no photosynthesis. Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

On a side note, how important is good air flow in a indoor garden? I've got a 20 inch fan running on oscillate and my entire room is sealed with plastic except for a small slit for a doorway. (I ask because I've already spent $1300 on my setup and I'm running low on funds).

Air flow is pretty important you will be fine with the oscillated fan for air movement, but you might have a problem with air exchange. I would keep and eye on it. One suggestion would be place another little $15 fan by the door where the slit is trying to draw in as much fresh air as you can. I hav had grows that did not have a good fresh air intake, but the grow still turned out great.

Yep, like moto said, cover the top of your rw and ensure adequate ventilation. I use rw in net pots with hydroton on bottom, top and sides. LOTS of air movement/exchange in my grow. I've not had any algae issues with this setup.

Yeah, I have 6 clones that are rooted and ready to go in gro-blocks. They're in dire need of a transplant and I've got 6" net pots with white covers. I've also got half a $40 bag of growcubes and figured I'd find someway to make a hydro setup for my vegging/flowering clones.
