Yeah but you're not gettin' 14+ hours out of it either...

I'm nowhere near an op that is perfected leaving me to look for additional gains... However toying with longer light periods seems to be the best place to look to me.

That is all.

I know a couple of growers that do straight 24/0 for veg and then two flat out days of darkness, then start 12/12.

My lights are on 16 hours a day. I'm confused as to what you mean by I'm not gettin 14+ hours out of it.

I assumed you went 12/12 in flower. Sorry. 16 hours of light in flower is good, I didn't think that many people pulled it off.

I wonder how stressful it is to go even further than that... I imagine the only danger becomes hermies?

Kali you operate with the best of both worlds,

High output blues and HPS full spectrum reds.

However the point I'm really trying to make is that this can be done more efficiently, mainly through displacing the well tested HPS, with red dees, or even warm flouros, and a IR bulb.

No need to fix what aint broke though.

I do not do 16 hours in flower! Well, I do for all the autoflowering varieties, because it won't affect them. Give them all the energy they can get!

i think somone needs to try a small grow using 12 hours of red med and 12 hours of blue led. to see if u can flower the plant and give it 24 hours of light. if so the use for led in growing juts got alot wider

I thought about it today,

And I'm gonna do it, red (510 watts!!!!) and royal blue (80 watts?), on two different power supplies so I can have them on different timers.

24 hours? HIGHLARIOUS.

Even better than DANLARIOUS!!!

You're only going to flower under 24 hours of light if it's an autoflowering strain.

There is a reason we made green lights for working around plants with photoperiod. Blue light destroys the flowering hormone in cannabis tissues just as much as red light does. Green light does not. 24 hours of light exposure, even under LEDs, will not allow for flowering unless you're growing an auto strain.

Ed might be researching it now but Oxford Mississippi has already done it. These are the guys that created G-13, just FYI. They know what does and does not work.
