extended dark hours

So some people are coming to do an inspection on my house this week (just got notice of it yesterday, fun!) so I need to store my girls in a little out-of-the-way storage closet while they're here.

The plants are 2 weeks into flowering and are normally in the light portion of the 12/12 cycle during the time they'll be in the closet. There isn't any ability to put light in the storage closet so they're going to get an additional 8 or 9 hours of darkness before I can get home from work and set everything back up.

Will this cause any problems for them? I'm sure it'll stress them out a bit, but anything I need to worry about or keep an eye on? I've tried to research it, but I found conflicting answers that seemed more like opinion than anything factual

Talking with a couple growers who know more than I, and in my opinion, we all think they'll be fine. Just make sure to get them back on the same schedule as soon as possible. Good luck..

This is the correct answer - just don't make a regular thing of this and they won't even notice.

yeah they can do with extra darkness its only when u get not enough dark time when have a problem

If you're really worried maybe you could put something in there to keep them "awake" like get a little keychain flashlight or something and leave it on in your closet? No experience with the matter but just a thought...

if they were outside they wouldnt always get a full days light, cloudy days etc so its not a problem but extended light signals longer days which is a problem.

You'll be fine, the plants will just assume its cloudy. Biggest worry is extended light causing the plants to go back into veg.

You can stress the plants out by having inconsistent timing, from what I understand, but they will usually recover. Just end up slowing or stopping growth until they do.
