"Extinction Threat to Religions" Hope for the World yet?

Look at the most non religious nations as examples, just about every statistic that matters is better, coincidence?

Nobody is saying religion is the ONLY reason wars are waged. Personally, I've been saying that wars are waged for all sorts of reasons, organized religion provides people with the false sense of justification for committing the acts wars require, without it, the individual is responsible for justifying them himself, an impossible task for any human being with an honest conscience.

Absolutely not. No question organized religion is responsible for more divisions than any other single force on earth, including money.

Most "non-religious" nations have only begun this trend in the, what, last 50 years tops? A drop in the course of history. Will it prove to be successful? Are people happier now? Is the GDP of a nation the measure of happiness?

What did Hitler use to "justify" the murder of millions of people? What did Stalin use? Nationalism? Socialism? I wonder how so many Germans or Russians during those times got over the "impossible" task of justifying it to themselves? People like to think that they would have done something different had they been there. Were those that felt the twinge of guilt or echo of their conscience evil? I don't think so.

You'll have to explain your last statement to me a bit further. What do you mean by "divisions"? If I stated that location or ethnicity is responsible for more "divisions" wouldn't I be correct? How many nations are there? How many ethnicities? How many religions?

Simply put (IMO) the old rhetoric and dogma no longer holds up, it has no real signifigance today, despite how hard religious zealots try to connect it. Fuck the pope and the vatican, catholicism in particular is losing steam. Think for yourself and these antiquated religions will naturally die off like the wooly mammoth.

Actually, you need to brush up on your knowledge of the Revelation of St. John the Divine. The bible doesn't finish with the world having eternal peace, love, happiness, harmony, after the apocalypse. It finishes with the world being utterly destroyed, and we all are taken to a new heaven and a new earth, and that's where all the peace, love, happiness and harmony comes in. I'm no christian, but I was raised southern baptist. Got no problem with people spouting scripture, but if you're gonna do it, get it right, VER D.

As for the wives, hell... each person should have the right to legally take as many spouses as they can afford to support... no gender differentiation here... men and women are equal in that scenario.
