Extra lighting

I have some 23w cfl's that I can add to my 600w hps. Any opinions on if its worth it? I figured I would put them next to the plants for side lighting, like this:

Not a bad idea. What spectrum are they? Cause if you still in veg it would be good to get higher spectrum cfl's with more blue for the veg stage.

They are soft light (pretty sure thats blue). Didnt think about that. Im gonna need warm for bloom, right? Gonna get bigger ones too.

Okay, so I bought some 40w soft light cfl's. You think with the placement I showed above, it will make a difference?
