Hello all i was wondering if anyone had any smart ideas for my situation. I have a room with a door that someone could probably get into if they pulled the pins out of the hinges of the door. I am trying to find a way to prevent this somehow. The door pulls outwards. And you cant position the hinges anywhere else. Anyone have any good mechanical ideas?

if you have a good lock....isn't that enough to keep any one from getting the hinges off..? if there is no way to hang it so it opens inwards ,,then from my understanding you have a very tough door already....since no one can kick it in.....and with a good lock you would be fairly safe

Put a dead bolt on the side of your doors with the hinges also, all u need is a drill and a screwdriver. Or you could just padlock the side with the hinges also.

just superglue the door shut. trap yourself in the garden, have an adventure.
depending on how much money u want to spend, there would be security companies that offer doors people woudn't be able to easily get into.
that said, do u really want people walkng through ur house and seeing a steel door with deadlocks and a glowing light coming from under it, little obvious lol

But on a serious note, you're usually better off disguising your room than protecting it. Is there any way you would hang something over your door? A nice ornamental rug or something. People can't unscrew your hinges if they don't know there's a door there!
