ahhh thought it was the cloner i used to have with an air pump and air stones..pain in the ass , always doing water changes

Thanks!I was never gonna give up. theyll have roots on them in 4 days,ill upload some pics of the roots when i transplant to coco...

Dude, when your ez-clone cuts got sick did they get brown and slimy above the puck and below or just the stem down in the res area? I'm going thru some shit! the res is 67 now....no improvement. in my attempt to cool I took the cloner to a dark place though. I think maybe I should put some light on them now that its cooler..... I don't know, thanks-

Yes Cory, that is exactly wat happened ..looked fairly healthy until u looked at stem below the foam n slightly above foam pucks . Was brown n had goo that looked like cloning gel ..but was not gel, I wasn't using gel.

This is an old post, but for those still checking it...I recommend technique I learned from PermaClone. Their collars are pricy ( you can get by just buying new collars) but they teach how to keep sterile and using water soluble hormones. I definitely encourage anyone that clones aerponically to check out the permaclone articles:

Fort his last one scroll to the last part about treating your water. This is best if you use water that isn't heavily treated like I have experienced on well water.

I had some cuttings root successfully recently but they died. On close inspection I discovered that they had been effectively strangled due the clamping force exerted by the collars. Cuttings that hadn't rooted experienced similar crushing of the stem. This is an appalling design flaw. The collars need to be made of a softer material that would be more forgiving, especially for when the stem of the rooted cutting thickens. I've noticed some being sold in the US on Amazon as "Premium Grade Foam" that is described as non-porous, but none appear to be available elsewhere, including here in the UK. However, the collars I have are not neoprene, but a foam, so are likely to be the same product anyway, yet still not good enough. The only other option would be to bore out the centres a little to reduce the pressure. This matter sorely needs to be addressed by the manufacturers, whether it be Ez-Clone, X-Stream, or whoever.
