ARG! I can not get this stuff to work. I have tried it in bags, in milk jugs with saran wrap over them, outside, in standing water, in not standing water, inside. I can NOT get anything to germ or root (i don't see signs of ANYTHING in 3-4 days). Is pHing the water that essential? I just use regular tap water. Don't give me technicalitys about how tap has chlorine becuase I water my main plant and seed sprout in soil my other plants just fine with tap. It is the rockwool.(I am using gordan hydro cubes, they are green, I believe thats rockwool)

I used the 96 cube flat in the dome tray 3 pieces .... I poured bottle water on the cubes and soaked them well ... then I separated the 2 trays and poured the exess water off .... then put the seeds in the holes I used 32 of them .... put the dome on and put them in a warm cuboard ... 3 days later a 18 of them came up so I removed the dome and put some floro grow lights 2" above the seedlings 10 more came up in the next 2 days .... now they are transplanted into my hydro setup so I hope my procedure helps :joint:

You have to understand, ROCKWOOL HAS THE BEST MOISTURE RETENTION OF ANY GROWING MEDIUM. Don't use too much water, and YES YOU HAVE TO PH THE WATER. Its to rinse the salts out of the rockwool. VV

yes, it sounds like to much water. It will rot the seeds. I had one rot on me in my 4 pot DWC. The medium in the one pot was quite a bit moister than the 3 that sprouted.

Victorvicious is right. Don't let your rockwool sit in standing water. You have to PH if you are using rockwool. Don't squeeze excess water out of it either. And keep your growing area warm enough to let the seeds sprout.

I will try rockwool one more time w\ PH. I am NOT liking it so far. I am going to move to a different cloning medium. I am currently trying that "Stick the clipping in a cup of water" method that some guy posted a guide on here about. I may try peat pelets since I can just put them in soil anyway.

As for germinating I am going to use what has worked best for me, the great outdoors. I am trying paper towels as well.
