Fabric pots - lookin' to make the switch.

I am going to be transplanting my little ones pretty soon and would like to put 'em into larger 5 gallon buckets (minimum.) I will have the room for larger plants and I know that larger plants in my existing 12 litre pots will become root bound P.D.Q.

I was looking at the 7 gallon fabric pots / grow bags cause they are cheaper than the air pots but work more or less the same way. I am hoping that the R.I.U. community can provide me with some recommendations on which are durable and re-usable fabric pots / grow bags.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I like the airpots personally, they allow for painless transplants for you and the plant, plus they look cool as shit.

Just going off the few youtube videos I watched of someone transplanting out of fabric pots, most of em wrecked the root ball. Not so with airpots, but they can be a little messy if you don't pack the soil right.

Either way they are both supposed to air prune the roots. Which allows for vigorous growth. My vote is for airpots. Plus they are endorsed by Jorge Cervantes, what's cooler than that?

They both work well. I personally use smart pot bags (the only brand I've ever used) and they have treated me very well. Thinking about giving air pots a try just based on durability. I find the bags tend to have a limited life span compared to most other types of pots.

I switched to a rootmaster pot .


I only use them for final pot size , to hard to transplant

Same here BigHorn, I am looking at these pots being their final place. I just want to get back to 5 to 7 gallon buckets again. Rootmaster pots ... hmmm. See what I can find out about 'em. Danke.
