So like my wife was playing with the puppy this morning and it found this on the floor up under the edge of a table....
I dont know if its from a plant or animal and have NEVER seen anything like it in all my days...
First check was to make sure it was dead and not gonna bite my ass then I started checking it out...
there are 8 appendages coming off of it and it seems that each one looks like it has segments...there are lines on each little leg/appendage going horizontally across it...
The one @ what seems to be the rear of the thing is really long compared to the others. The 2 next to that one are really short, and then the rest of them are about the same length except what seems to be the one on the front. Its about equal length as the 2 small ones near the tail.
8 appendages total...
The bottom looks as if something has been broken off of it to me. it also looks about the texture of the inside of a chestnut shell.... There are small bumps on the bottom and about 6 of them...right where the outside leg looking things would be attached, but there isnt one for the pointy thing @ the front or the one one what I assumed to be the rear...
the thing is covered in a small amount of soft fuzz that looks like short little hairs... I scraped away a small potion of that with my knife and there is a hard part under it...About the same hardness as the leg lookin thingies...
I immediately thought that it was something from a plant of some various kind but on further inspection it appears that it was alive @ one time as an insect maybe... Its DEFIANTLY no kind of spider...
I can see only one main segment that the spiny things are attached to....
I tried to break one of the appendages off and I cant. As nor can I CUT them off with a knife...
has anyone ever seen anything like this or know what it is? Im gonna look around on the web a bit more and then stop back in here to see if anyone knows any info on what this thing is...
