Use a browser like Chrome or FireFox for facebook. Use TorBrowser for shit you don't want public (such as rollitup.org.)
Google, Apple, Facebook, SmartPhones, etc should be considered tracking devices and internet monitors. The New York Times had an article last week regarding this practice, and it's rampant, and they're more than happy to give the authorities your information so that they can keep tracking and selling your data.

Look for a good vpn service in a country with ridiculously strict privacy laws. One service I subscribe to annually is btguard. For the yearly fee they let you connect to their servers and every outbound and inbound connection to your computer appears as though it originated from their servers. A lot of heavy bit torrent users pay for the service. I on the other hand use it for EVERYTHING. Including this site.

This article on FB monitoring makes it sound like the spyware is aimed at catching sexual predators. And obviously if your going to talk about something illegal, or say something that could be used against you in court, don't do it on FB or email, where it cold be subpoenaed.
