i had to create a new user name because somebody is to stoned to send me my password........ PUT DOWN THE BLUNT AND ANSWER THE EMAILS!!! i asked a question that went like this "if i put transparent red film in front of a light would it mimic a hps." people thought i had my head up my ASS!!!! welllllllll, guess what??? according to the california biolight group, i quote "when a color transparency (filter) is placed in front of a standard light source it will cause the light output to mimic the color wavelength of the filter......" sooooooooo, i'll be flowering my plants using 9900 lums, 11-14 watt cf's and a red film. i'll let you know how it works, might be a low cost alternative to hps and mh........:hump:

Still your CFL's do not even hold a candle to the power and penetration of a HID lamp be it HPS or MH.....

but with the versatility of the cfs i can position multiples anywhere and everywhere almost right against the plants without having to worry about burning them. i'm not saying they are a replacement for high intensity lights but i'm going to try because i can run 20 or 30 cfs (900 lums each) for the same cost (electricity wise) as 1-1000watt hps. i get the bulbs for free through the electric company. THANKS GUYS!!
besides if we didn't try new things everyone would still be trying to grow in a closet lined with tinfoil and incandesents...........:hump:
