Fan and carbon filter / scrubber questions

I will be growing in a SECRET JARDIN DR90 (3x3x6) with a 400w hps with batwing reflector. I have a fantech 6inch 220cfm centrifugal fan and i hope to keep costs down by using this fan. The air will come from an evironmentally controlled living space and exhausted into that same room.

I will grow AK48 from Nirvana.

My questions are

What size filter will be best for this setup. Weight is an issue as i understand the secret jardin doesnt support a great deal.

What brand? I have never used a carbon filter/scrubber.

Any info, tips, tricks, knowledge, and insights greatly appreciated.

Are you certain your 6" fan is only 220 cfm? The fantech HP220 is the model number for their 344cfm fan. It would pair perfectly with the Phresh Skinny carbon filter $108 on amazon.

You want a filter equal to the CFMof your fan, you can go bigger but not smaller then what your fan is rated. As for weight issues u can set it on the floor. Hope this helps.

You can keep costs down and get a cheap one but it will need changed more often. If you want the best get a phresh or a mountain air. Can make good filters too and they're reasonably priced probably mid market then you've got the cheap and nasty scorpions and chinese ones. They all work just some better than others. If I was you I'd get the can.

Im considering the phresh 6x16 ( 400cfm max ) or 6x24 (550cfm max )

Does anyone know the MINIMUM CFM for these filters?
The min is less important than the max I usually go 3/4 of the max. The reason you have a Max is because the filter restricts air flow, this happens no matter what rating fan and filter you use but. The bigger the filter the less resistance therefor the most cfm. Using a filter that is too small leads to the fan having to work harder to move air which results in more noise and less air exchange.

the cfm rating for the filter is so you know not to use too strong of a fan and suck the charcoal out.there is no minimum but my 6 inch fan/filter is (powerstepper)turned down to 3/4 because it gets way less noisy and still throws air

I would go with Blue Brother on this, toka is a little stoned n just saying things.... ur not gonna suck out your charcoal pellets, tho do expects the first moments of run time, to see coal dust from shipping causing friction.....

I have a 10x10 grow tent and I'm venting it with a Ventech VT IF6+CF6-B fan with 6inch exauhst and a 440 CFM Carbon filter.

i am using the phat filters by hydrofarm now.i have used can, active air by hydrofarm,a generic from htg and phresh.i like phat better then everything.if your humidity is high none will do a great job long.my presh isnt a year old and is starting to fail.my active air filters have lasted up to 2 years.the phat is a month newer then the presh but was less and weighs more.i like the heavier the filter.i will never go generic with a carbon filter again!
